Strength:

Clear crisp sound

Weakness:

None.

With the right setup and equipment, these little satelites cubes and subwoofer can make the sound travel. The speakers are well worth the money.

Strength:

Everything is great about these speakers! i get so tired
of third rate Bose bashers out there trashing this product.
If it is set up right EG...correct A/V settings etc etc it
will kick butt in your living room unless you live in a palace. If so go out and buy some THX Ultra certified speakers and a THX Ultra certified A/V receiver. If you are
not already independently wealthy I guess you will have to take a side job to pay for all that THX stuff but I am sure
you will get what you pay for....great sound at great price.
Meanwhile I use the Bose and never fail to impress visitors
to mu small living room.

Weakness:

None unless you are super AUDIOPHILE.

Grreat system that will last a lifetime! Beware
Bose Bashers...mostly stuck up AUDIOPHILES or 18 year
olds with damagfed hearing.

Strength:

Half step up from clock radio and tv speakers

Weakness:

Sound

Nothing sounds natural through these things. Highs sound rolled off around 15 khz or so, voices sound like everyone has a cold or is speaking through a megaphone, bass is incredibly mushy. Put it all together and you have aan extremely distorted picture of the original sound. To say these speakers are colored would be like saying Jeffery Daumer was eccentric! Then there is the ungodly price tag. Hell, 5.1 can be done slightly cheaper and 1000% better than Bose. The only advantage I can see is that the Bose are small and fit in spaces nothing else will. For all of you that are more concerned with decor than sound, I highly recommend the Bose Accoustimass. But then, why buy anything at all? Your tv takes up less space by itself and sounds almost as good. Audition other things and you will NOT buy Bose. I'm sure the folks that like these things have never heard anything good. Negative 1000 stars for the biggest piece of crap around.

Strength:

...hard to say....well, NONE !!

Weakness:

All you want to think of

Never came across a Bose system which actually does reproduce serious music in a manner one whishes to have somewhat neutral. I guess you can listen to the mids once you manage to stick your head into the box (Have fun..). DOn't wanna continue, since it gives me a headache already...
Besides, Harris....Mercedes is a brand of DaimlerChrysler and it is a jointventure company so forget about this patriotism thing. You should be a bit more objective..er..let's say educated? Certainly the only language you speak is english. Besides you are
right 'bout the Corvette - It is a nice car.

Ahem hmmm silence please.Thank you dear audio experts, let me tell you all this, the Bose AcousticMess 15 is ALMOST as good as my computer Cambrige MicroWorks! No,no jokes here. The highs are spit forward, the mids are like the rainbow and the bass....Band-Pass style.Slow and does not go too low.Almost allthe Band-Pass subs are slow, muddy and irritating. And please dont tell me these
AcousticMess are as great,if you want to hear great speakers listen to Dynaudio
Contour series,B&W Nautilus series,Monitor Audio Studio series then you will hear real Hi-Fi not mass market boom boxes. So if style is your main concern
I give this system a 3/5,if sound quality is its a 1/5.I give this system 1/5.

I must totally disagree with "An Audio enthusiast" about Bose. Mercedes are much less expensive here, and they make many consumer models. Ergo: not a status symbol in Germany. Point aside, buying Bose is like buying a Yugo or a Skoda. They are indeed cars with four wheels, but a horribly cheap knockoff of poor quality and performance.
Buying something like Paradigm, B&W, and Magnepan are like buying a Mercedes for the price of a Yugo. Not just any Mercedes, but the truly fine SL580's and kompressor models. You get so much for your money, real bass and crystalline highs that Bose products are absoloutly incapable of reproducing.
One "Star" for the only American product I really hate.

Five days ago I posted a "review" about Bose Acoustimass 15 speakers. I am embarrased but happy to admit that I was wrong when I said the Acousticrap 15 was "great". I did not know what I was talking about. Please don't make the same mistake I made. Try out other speakers to compare to. You will find better sounding speakers for much less money, that is, if you WANT better sound. If you want tiny speakers with limited sound, go ahead, spend your money on the Accoustimass 15. Fortunately for me, I found this review site and other helpfull sites and I learned enough to question my blind belief in Bose.
I took the Acousticrap 15 back to the store, got a refund, learned a little more about home audio, tested some home theater sets from Def Tech, Klipsch, Energy, Boston Accoustics, and others. Finally I found a set of home theater speakers that sound GREAT (well at least to me).
My new humble home theater: Energy e:XL 16 Front, e:XLC Center, e:XL15 rear, Klipsch KSW12 Sub, Denon AVR2700 Receiver. DVD Deck is next on my wish list. Currently using a JVC HiFi VCR.

Bose Acoustimas 15 gets 1 star. My Energy's and Klipsch Sub get a 5.

Thanks to everyone for their reviews/comments.

The Bose AM series of speakers represents 20 year old technology, that maybe was worth the price twenty years ago. If you are interested in Bose simply because of the small size, then invest some time in reading up on speaker design and build a set of your own "AM 15's". This can be done for less than $200 easy. Just read up and then shop around for the similar speakers (try radio shack or MCM catalog). I bulid my own speaker using what ever is handy and I can match the Bose in sound. I know, I know...I should set my sights higher. Otherwise, $1299 can buy some great speakers...NHT, Polk's, Klipsch, Paradigm. Check out the other speaker at this sight. You might read a bad review, but not the vapid attacks that the Bose brings on themselves.

Strength:

compact size,sound good....

Weakness:

priced too high, not as good sound as its marketed....

Was considering purchasing a bose home theatre system but after reading these reviews, will shop more thoroughly before purchasing anything. I am now considering other lines like paradigm home theatre, klipsh, polk audio, and other products that does not have the price tag that bose products have. I think now bose is very expensive and very overpriced for what your getting.

We all have to consider were our dollars are going and i don't think you will get your monies worth with bose acoustimass 15's....
