I was unassumingly auditioning these Bose speakers at a local mid fi chain store. I listened carefully. I really disliked the horribly grainy upper midrange and lack of treble. Real low bass, like jet engine roar, pipe organ music was faint except for what was about 80hz. Then, there was a gross hump in the midbass, resulting in exxaggerated distortion. I though, ok--I dislike the sound, so how much is this setup? My knees almost gave out when I found out how much this poor sounding, paper cone set of baby blocks cost. |

I don't know the difference between a casual listener, an audio enthusiast, or an andiophile. Is the guy who likes hot dogs and beer any less worthy than the one who likes quiche? |

Once again another review from other speakers at Circuit City.Have a clue bonehead, the people that are bashing those pieces of shit got off their butts and went to a GOOD audio outlet to do their auditioning.Until you get your butt out their and do the same your review means nothing.I would love to see the look on your face when you compared side by side with Energy,Definitive,Paradigm ect. |

Well, I guess I should have pointed out that I don’t listen to speakers for my house anywhere but – in my house. My local audio shop trucked over several different speakers. I picked the Bose because I thought they sounded best here- not at Circuit City nor in a dark room paneled with foam and accented with A-B switches. By the way, Larry, it’s not “get your butt out THEIR”; it’s “get your butt out THERE.” Just a little brush-up on bonehead English for you. |

I don't know a whole lot about speakers and components. In fact, I would not spend 4 grand on an audio setup. The problem is, my untrained ears detect that Bose doesn't have any highs, or low bass. |

Strength:
in a well enclosed room the am15 provides a great listening experience. if you are a fan of hard rock or rap choose something else. in surround sound (dolby digitl) it sounded fairly good.
Weakness:
if you have a larger room you might want to get something a bit larger in the speakers catagorie. if you are a bose enthuasiast than this is a good system for you. its small easy to mount and easy to hide the bass module. i have heard better but in a medium sized room the system sounded good. Similar Products Used: i also tested the ini hts10. which sounded very good. if you want to spend the money for the am15, you might want to piece together you own system to get a better sound than the am15. |
