My website tells all you'll ever need to know about Bose

http://www.geocities.com/trustnoho/boseframes.html

In response to Slawomir:

Of course the people that claim themselves to be "audiophiles" and the people who say that "these things suck" didn't buy the AM-15. Why would we? If they were half as horrible as we said they were, why in God's name would we want to buy them? Makes sense huh? See, you don't need to OWN something to know that it sucks. There's this thing called 'auditioning' before you buy, and a consumer protection policy called '30/60/90 day return'. I took advantage of my auditioning option and thoroughly tested the AcoustiMass for a week over Christmas Break. My analysis based on my previous knowledge, experience, and observations from dissecting the unit are posted at this site:

http://www.geocities.com/trustnoho/boseframes.html

PS: I just leased a bunch of industrial benchmarking sensors and meters, including: impedance/gain-phase analyzer, 500 MHz s-parameter test set, network/spectrum impedance analyzer, LCR meter, milliohmmeter, 500 MHz color oscilloscope, digital voltage multimeter, 200 MHz differential probe and control module, spatial analyzer & TEF pad. Over Spring Break I will audition a Lifestyle100 and 901 floorstanders and post my review of those on my site as well.

PPS: Slawomir has no life, he actually counted 192 reviews and tabulated the ratings for each category! What a crazed fanatic!! Look, our negative reviews for Bose products serve to inform uneducated consumers that impulse shop off marketing gimmick and brand name popularity. If you still do not heed our warnings then you deserve your AcoustiMess.

Message to anti-bose people that do not have the AM15 package is - go away

I think the following review from the AM10 site which has also been corrupted also says alot about this site:

Review on the AM10:

'I am very upset because people keep writing bad reviews about a product they haven't even purchased.. I came to this site expecting to see some constructive critisim from people who have purchased this product so that I can evaluate whether or not I would want to purchase the item in the future. If you want to bad mouth a product go to the product that you support and do it there otherwise save the comments because some of us may like these speakers.
Thank-you'

This message is to all, which are interested, in REAL reviews on this site.

It concerns BOSE AM-15 and his strong opponent MR. RICH that use to place some of his reviews from time to time, here. You can find his reviews below and on the other products of Bose.
The point of my message to you is to ***warn*** you Folks against Mr. Rich, because after a few emails I received personally from him, I noticed that he is not a person worth attention in matter of A/V product reviews.
As a proof let me show you the very last email from this guy, here it is:

“...
Slawomir: I can hear the difference between AM-15 and B&W

Mr.RICH: DUH!! Any fu**ing id*ot can!

Slawomir: No matter what you think, my opinion about Bose AM-15 will not change.

Mr.RICH: I don't fu**ing care idiot! What made you think I give a sh*t what you think about these sh*t speakers in the first place? Go build yourself a humiliating Bose Shrine website for all I give a sh*t. I don't wanna hear about your ridiculous little arguments for Bose until you can vom*it one that is worthy of my time and attention. Bottom line, everything that is concrete and substantial proves them to be man's shi**iest creation along with the opinions of every other analytical audiophile in the world. If they
were so damn* great, how come Snell, Audio Physic, REL, Krell, and Wilson haven't made an equivalent design? And don't gimme bul**hit about patents either, cause Sony and JVC have made similar piles of horse sh*t.

...” end of email. I had to do somesome "*" in his original message because of censorship.

Well guys, now we all can see who we have to deal with :-)
No comments to Mr.Rich words.
By the way this guy always mentions about his anti-bose website http://www.geocities.com/trustnoho/boseframes.html, where other nice words are spoken.

Let us hope and pray for a little mercy for Mr. Rich! Then maybe he’ll become person worth to be published on international net.
I rest my case.

Strength:

small, sound good for DVD playback

Weakness:

not perfect

The last reviewer bought them, disected the speakers to see what they are made of by dismantling them and taking them apart, then actually managed to get the money back?

Don't speakers have to be in good condition to get a refund?

You should buy the speakers, set them up correctly and then comment on them

Listen to a DVD, if you say Bose sound rubbish with DVD playback then you have different ears to me

Below you will find a listing of milestones in the history of Bose. I think it is in the best interest of prospective buyers to read over this carefully before shelling out their hard-earned cash.
__________________________________________________________

1964-Founding Of Bose
In the 1950s, Rev. Dr. Amar Buffet Bose IX observed loudspeakers didn’t deliver natural sound. Extensive research into the science of sound, lasting all of 20 minutes, led to the formation of Bose Corporation.

1968-Birth Of A Legend
The legendary 901® Direct/Reflecting® speaker is introduced, coming down from the sky playing "Carmina Burana." It reflects 89% of the sound off walls – similar to a live concert taped by a bootlegger with his Fisher Price tape deck – for natural, lifelike sound.

1969-Double Blind Test
Bose pioneers the double blind test, wherein Bose speakers are placed in a room and our competitors' speakers are placed in a high school gym. The first man to hear our speakers leaves the room saying: "No highs, no lows -- it must be a Bose."

1972-Pro Loudspeakers
Bose enters the professional ranks by producing a loudspeaker system designed exclusively for the demanding, discriminating tastes of the professional musician.
Unfortunately, these people didn't buy our products.

1972-Syncom® Testing Computer
Bose establishes the proprietary Syncom computer to acoustically measure speakers against a laboratory model to guarantee a level of consistency and reliability. The next day the computer crashes and is never repaired.

1973-Promotional Offer
Bose invents potato salad. This comes free with any purchase over $5,000.

1975-World’s Best-Seller
The 301® Direct/Reflecting® speaker system is launched into space following the Apollo 17 mission. Renowned Bose technologies, versatile design and affordability make it one of the world’s best-selling speakers. Too bad it doesn't sound very good.

1982-Moving Sound
Bose introduces a custom-designed, factory-installed system specifically for automobiles. Some of the world’s most luxurious cars today, including Hyundai and Yugo, feature Bose sound systems.

1983-Immobile Sound
Hyundai and Yugo drop our speakers from their available options, as a result of their quality control standards.

1984-Acoustic Waveguide
Bose designs acoustic waveguide technology and brings component system sound to a compact system with a side order of fries. Experience full sound with rich bass from an extremely small enclosure which sounds just as bad as you've come to expect from Bose.

1985-Advertising
Bose dupes 101,031 people into buying our speakers as a result of an aggressive advertising campaign.

1986-Acoustimass® Speaker Technology
Acoustimass speaker technology is born at 3:05 p.m. weighing 6 lbs. 3 oz. Room filling sound is available without a room full of equipment. Virtually Invisible® speaker design includes cube speaker arrays and compact module. By cutting out the insides of the cube speakers, they can be used to make high quality ice cubes at no additional charge.

1987-Inventor Of The Year
Acoustic waveguide technology creates a stir in the scientific community, earning Dr. Bose and Dr. William Short “Inventor of the Year” honors. Those who determined the "Inventor of the Year" picked up their checks in the mail shortly thereafter.

1989-Acoustic Noise Cancelling® Headsets
Bose Acoustic Noise Cancelling headsets are created to bring clear communication and protection into the cockpit for pilots and on the ground for air and ground crew.
They work incredibly well at cancelling all sound in the headsets. Plane crashes have increased every year since.

1990-Lifestyle® Systems
Bose develops Lifestyle® systems. Our proprietary system design approach and Virtually Invisible® speaker design create an unmatched level of performance and design, unless you include any speaker that is made by our competitors.

1993-Wave® Radio
The Wave radio, the world’s finest sounding radio (in our unbiased opinion), is introduced. Acoustic waveguide technology delivers rich, deep sound – not previously heard from an enclosure this ridiculously overpriced.

1994-Auditioner® Audio Demonstrator
Auditioner audio demonstrator is created by our renowned engineer Mortimer M. McMarmocet. You hear the exact acoustic performance of a building’s proposed sound system before the building is constructed for the amazingly low price of $1 million dollars plus a $200,000 surcharge for installation. Potato salad not included.

1995-Jewel Cube® Speaker
Bose designs the Jewel Cube speaker to bring high performance sound down to size – easily hidden behind your hand, which a lot of our customers requested, since many routinely play hide & seek with their speakers.

WARNING!!!
If you are not an ardent BOSE proponent, and you have posted a negative review of a bose product, you may be subjected to the wrath of an individual who goes by the moniker "Mr. Bose". He will come to you in stealth, with a foul tongue and an equally lacking vocabulary totally void of any degree of usefull coherency. This person is evidently either retarted or perhaps a crack adict.

Mr. BOSE: We know your out there, however your cowardice is evident in the fact that you don't give anyone the opportunity to respond to you maniacal ravings. This will not be tolerated. At least When I write a to reviewer I give them a chance to retort. Mr. Bose, it is well that you are devoted to your cause, nevertheless, it is unfortunate that you lack the intelligence to convey your ignorant beliefs. It is advisable that you consult a dictionary which, just in case you weren't aware, is a book which may bestow upon you startling revalations about the mechanics of intelligent expression. I await your response.

Strength:

small size

Weakness:

Expensive, almost everything

This speaker sounds very dry, lack of coherence, and very harsh at upper mid. The soundstage is narrow and shallow(I already twist the satellite, and doesnt find any good settings for musical purpose.) The speaker also sounds very flat and dull. If you turn the sounds louder, the satellite seems overpowered( I only driven this w/ my Sony 545 receiver !!!!)
However this speaker is very small, you can put every where you want to be, and it fit. This speaker has a decent sound for Home theater but not for music! My suggestion is, if you consider these speakers for yous system, think about it one more time, because you can find another system that sounds better than these expensive little guy.
