I´m giving 5 stars not only to these speakers but to all Bose speakers, the rating is for the good times (endless laughing to the tears and stomatch pain) i have reading these reviews and all others for bose speakers.

I think all of you agree.

So for that .... thanks BOSE.

Unfortunately what is not funny is the fact that every day, numerous people get ripped off by Bose marketing to make them believe they are really buying hi fidelity products for a reasonable price.I give Bose marketing 5 stars, but Bose engineering gets 1 star.

Good sound if perhaps not great. Too many Bose bashers and children in here saying things without really listening to the reasons why this system and setup work. HT sound is quite nice and no one knows I have speakers in the room. A true subwoofer could provide more deep bass, but the bass it does provide is cleaner than ANY other I have ever heard. I can't wait to hear how all the children will bash these comments, but the fact remains that the speakers elegantly get the job done and the stereo sound is quite nice in spite of what someone might tell you.

All these reviews are very informative and it's interesting how emotional/biased people can become over a sound system. Until a few weeks ago I was competely biased towards Bose. Don't be sold by good marketing, be sold by good quality.
We've been shopping for an audio/theater system for about 2 months. Before we started comparing different manufacturers we were set on Bose. We were sold on their size, design and popularity. We were made to be prejudiced by the sleek "invisible" cubes, what I thought was good bass and the glistening ads and promo graphics that Bose has pushed so effectively. The truth is, when you compare any Bose system to a Klipsch(sp?), Boston Acoustics, Polk or even a Cambridge Soundworks setup, the Bose simply can't compete. I don't claim to be an audiophile but my wife and I are both trained in classical piano, flute, violin and trumpet. Now we enjoy listening to classical as well as alternative rock and swing/big band stuff, and when shopping for our new system we brought cd's of all these categories. To my ears, the Bose didn't have the clear midrange or highs(surprisingly) for classical, or adequate bass(volume or clarity) for the alternative stuff. Some of these reviews say that we should look at the reasonable price of Bose systems or their minimalist design. So far, the Boston's that I'm leaning toward now are cheaper, simply sound better, and are still quite small enough to fit in our 100 year old farmhouse's living room. Just one more note, when listening to different systems, have someone dampen the bass port on the Bose module. It astounded me how much that system relies on the "subwoofer" for its feeling or aura, imaging I guess it is. The satelites were honestly almost painful to listen to without the module. This is not the case with HIGH QUALITY, low popularity systems whose satelites have some guts.

WELCOME TO THE BOSE BASHERS UNITE WEBPAGE. I have never been so disgusted in the human race until I read this page. Bose is a respectable company with many innovational inventions. The company specilalizes in natural sound. Not Metallica-type music. Go ahead and pop in Kenny G CD in a Lifestyle 25, and you'll be blown away. I've listened to the same thing on '94 flagship Polks and it sounds good, but then try something different like Sarah McLachlan and the Bose's bass is a lot more realistic, no kidding. I think this site is a disgrace, when you go shopping for speakers, you turn down many othe speakers, I don't see you guys crying over them. Yes the build on some is below average but overall they are above average. When I think of speakers, I think of three different categories: Low-End: ex. Sony- Middle-End: BOSE- High-End: Meridian, Infinity. I think people are judging them in the wrong category, after all I don't see any Sharp or Panasonic speakers put up against the big boys. I do agree that Bose is over priced, but so is every thing else in the world. So if you don't like Bose than you don't like them okay, you don't have to spread hate messages on the internet over a speaker, if you don't like them- don't buy them. Asn for me I'm completely satisfied with my lifestyles 25. And for the speakers and what they do and how they do it, for the size I give th Bose Corp. 5 speakers- Thanx

I bought the bose acoustamass 10 two months ago. with the yamaha RV-1103. I think the sound was great. Now as far as the bass goes the bass was not that low. I went out and bought the M&K subwoofer V-75 mark II and let me tell you
with the bass from the subwoofer and those cubes man it sounds great!
Plus I bought a dvd player and it sounds great. IM HAPPY :)

Got to my dorm room, needed some speakers. Drove to the nearest Circuit City, and noticed that the Bose AM10 was the only system in the price range I was looking for ($800-1200). I had been warned against buying Bose previously, but picked up the AM10 against my better judgment.
Set them up in my room, cranked up some tunes, and found out that all the naysayers had been right. These speakers suck so badly for their price it isn't even funny. No base, no midrange, harsh treble. Brought them back to Circuit City, hopped over to the nearest Tweeters, and picked up a killer Mirage system. It is unreal how overpriced the Bose are. Apparently they spend all their money on magazine spreads and slicked-up webpages instead of in manufacturing.

DO NOT make the same mistake I did! Avoid these speakers like the plague!

With much interest I read all the reviews about Bose products this evening and I agree with the general sentiments expressed....that Bose is overpriced and gives a mediocre sound. I spent over an hour in the local Bose factory outlet store and was impressed with the small sized speakers but not the sound....the middle and upper ranges were anemic....especially when the salesman covered the hole in the bass speaker. The prices at the store were outrageous. But the glamour!!! Thanks for the leads for the other brands. I will look for the Energy's Take Five etc. Thank you.

OK, about these Bose Speakers. Some people say that these speakers perfrom just fine to thier standard. This is fine and all, but keep in mind the PRICE. Forget that the speakers have a bit of a tinny sound, and that the sub doesn't put out a LOT of power, lets talk about price. -Nuf said-

I went with Boston Acoustics Microseries 90 over these in a heart-beat!
i bought these to go with my new new Yamaha 795 and Sony DVP6000 5 changer DVD/CD player and am VER happy with sound!! My friends are estonished when they hear the quality, and then I point out the little-bitty front speakers that are almost "hiding" in my bookcase (yes, i got the white as my wife suggested), and they are more estonished. The Cast-aluminum construction is the best on the market, each front speaker must weigh 10-12 pounds. You get the high-end Lynnfield series tweeter to go along with the 3 1/2 midrange, and the speration adn highs are very good. For my room Cr400 is very good, although I have a trade-in agreement to go to the CR500 if i think i need it within 30 days.

Buy these speakers, put in Fleetwood Mac "the dance", and you think you are at the real thing. Kenny G, Kirk Whalum, and other jazz tunes come through clear. Even Rush - Tom Sawyer - soungs great for jammin rock.

I looked hard for 2-3 months at Paradigm, Energy, B&W, and they are all good. Bose sucks. I think the final factor was the high-end tweeter, the rock-solid construction, and the overall sond for the size. Was willing to go for a 12" or so bookshelf, like the CR7, or B&W 302, but could not hear the reason why.
