Strength:

Let's see, the cubes could be used to prop up my workbench.

Weakness:

Too many for this price point.

First, let me state how much I enjoy reading the Bose reviews on this site! Talk about vitriole! So the other night, I was over at Best Buy checking out the digital TVs and next to them were the sound system areas. I decided to do some listening to the terrible Bose. I casually clicked around to some of the various Bose systems; no surprises. Then I selected the Acoustimass, first with some jazz, then with classical music. The classical selection was a tenor singing an aria, and my ears perked up a little, then a lot. There was something missing! It was sort of like some of the instruments were missing. I then looked at the modules, and noticed there was no midrange! If one reads other reviews in this section, one will note a discussion on the "hole" between 200 hz and 280 hz on this system. There it was! Absolutely amazing!
I believe that hearing is a lot like vision; a lot of the perception is actually performed in the brain; the ears just pick up the vibrations. It seems that anyone who would take the time to listen with some concentration would find this product to be unacceptable. Further, the fact that a company can manufacture something like this and market it at this price is astounding!
If you still find these nightmares pleasant to listen to, go right ahead, but I sure wouldn't brag about them except to the hearing impaired.

Rob is a moron. Just look at how his review goes from mellow to borerline schitzophrenic-homocidal maniac in a mere 4 sentences. Anyway, for the rest of us that aren't writing audio reviews from a padded cage, there is clearly a reason why all BOSE products on this site have a strong following of avid critics. There is obviously something wrong with these speakers. You will notice one persistant trend in these Bose reviews. There are the fanatics, and there are hte rest of us. The fanatics preach the gospel of Bose, using support such as "they sound good to me", "don't listen to them", "buy buy buy!" "i am a salesman/sound engineer/mark levinson/studio recorder/mixer/etc and i know what's best!" and similar heaping piles of sh!t. They rest of us use logic, measurements, honesty, sanity, and satirical humor to express the truly disgusting nature of Bose. MY review of the AM-10 is at this site:

Enjoy.

WARNING!!!
If you are not an ardent BOSE proponent, and you have posted a negative review of a bose product, you may be subjected to the wrath of an individual who goes by the moniker "Mr. Bose". He will come to you in stealth, with a foul tongue and an equally lacking vocabulary totally void of any degree of usefull coherency. This person is evidently either retarted or perhaps a crack adict.

Mr. BOSE: We know your out there, however your cowardice is evident in the fact that you don't give anyone the opportunity to respond to you maniacal ravings. This will not be tolerated. At least When I write a to reviewer I give them a chance to retort. Mr. Bose, it is well that you are devoted to your cause, nevertheless, it is unfortunate that you lack the intelligence to convey your ignorant beliefs. It is advisable that you consult a dictionary which, just in case you weren't aware, is a book which may bestow upon you startling revalations about the mechanics of intelligent expression. I await your response.

Strength:

Invisible Music. Subtle Perfection.

The 5 Bose speakers are mounted to my walls and produce the most amazing sound. I bought them in white, and they blend into the room decor. They sound superb, although, if I wanted strong base sounds in my music, I might complain, however, while watching DVDs the rumble of base is perfect.

I would highly recommend these speakers to my friends.

Terrible speakers. The modules do nothing really, there aren't any good highs and absolutely no lows. The speakers aren't as clear as you'd like and the sub is pathetic. The sub has no presence what so ever. This system wouldn't be too bad for $200, but it costs $900(it used to be even higher). If you want some real speakers in this price range, you could go with virtually anything(from Yamaha to Polk). I would recommend Energy's Take 5 which is 10 times superior and can be bought for about $500 total! If you want something for around $1000 or more get Definitive Technology's Pro Cinemas. If you have anything from Bose you need a wake up call(i had mine). These aren't even worth auditioning. Go for anything else(even mini-systems for $300 sound better).

I forgot one thing in my last review. Each speaker in the AM10 costs around $5-10 to make each. So if you buy this you'll be paying $900 for something that costs Bose $50 at the most to make total! What a rip off. I think that's why Bose has a good reputation with people who know nothing about audio(Bose has become rich with the worst product).

These speakers are O.K for home theater but I would not recomend them for stereo listening. They also schould sell for alot less being that there is not much more then 15lb worth of gear. I do think they are well built but it does not justify the selling price. I'am giving them a 3 for home theater performance. If I could a 1 for overall value.
