Strength:

Awesome service. Fast and reliable. They use Purolator, NOT UPS. Amazing price, cosmetically appealing. A ton of different finishes available.

Weakness:

none

I had been looking for a setup for quite a while and had done a lot of research. It came down to Axiom and Rockets. I went with Axiom mainly because they are located in Canada (which means I don't pay any duty). They arrived undented, and the speakers were in perfect condition. As soon as I set them up I was amazed. They produced sound so clean and clear, (and very loud) I was amazed. I am sure the Rockets are great speakers as well, but this set-up I have is just amazing. I through in G'n'R and listened to "Knockin on Heaven's door" I was stunned when I almost didn't recognise the song. There are three guitars in the beginning, not two. The backgroud sounds that never existed before change the music, and add to it, a whole new level of sound. I pulled out old CD's I thought I had lost and was in awe. These speakers are amazing.

Soundstage, imaging is precise.

I was looking around for speakers for about three months. I auditioned name brands like B&W Nautilus 803, Paradigm Studios, Energy Veritas, Athena etc. I was a bit skeptical about internet brands but after talking to the nice folks at Axiom, I was sold. I have these speakers now for little over a month now and all I can say is "WOW". Simply amazing. Soundstaging and imaging is incredible. Mids and Highs are clean. Lows are pretty good but if you're into watching alot of movies you will need a good sub. Fit and finish is top notch and I didn't mind the vinyl finish either. Over all the M60ti is probably one of the best speakers that I auditioned. I can't stop listening to them. If you are in the market for new speakers these are worth to look at.

Clear as a bell, efficient speakers. Great value for the price. Good looking too!

I bought these speakers just from the reviews alone and I have not been dissapointed. The imaging, clarity, and the way the speakers convey the ambient noises in a movie gives you that extra aureal sensation. It makes scary movies even creepier!

Amazing Value from a company with exceptional customer service.

Weakness:

Not real wood, but still look very nice.

I bought these speakers over two years ago now and I just love them. I have only had one dealing with Axiom, and there service was exceptional. My grilles were coming apart at the edges, and they sent me new ones within 3 days of me e-mailing them. It was increadable. The Speakers have a very good dynamic range to them. I find they can handle a lot of power without any noticable signs of distortion and have had many friends comment on how nice they sound and look.

Quality of product- design and finish Well balanced sound with great soundstage You feel good about doing business with Axiom

Weakness:

The size is a consideration- they are not small

These are wonderful speakers from a truly customer oriented company. Imagine, after receiving the m60ti's, I got e-mail from Axiom asking if I had any installation issues and was I satisfied. Thanks, Amie. Based upon reviews I ordered the m60's unauditioned, but the 30 day guarantee was a safety net. The experts at Axiom were happy to discuss the best purchase with me, my particular room and listening habits. The speakers arrived in great shape and the price includes shipping. They took two days to Vermont from Ontario,CA. I am so pleased with the sound, it is truly a bargain for these speakers. I dont watch much TV, or home theater, but listen to jazz and classical. These speakers are perfectly balanced for this music- even the internet streaming stations rebroadcast by FM transmitter to my stereo sound great. I know from listening to my teenagers music that rock sounds fine too- but a sub helps there. I would be glad to audition these for folks around Burlington, Vermont. I cant say enough about this purchase- axiom has quite a community forum an their site. I feel like I am part of a family.

What's not to love?! The volume of Cerwin Vegas with the clarity of......well, Axioms!

Weakness:

crappy recordings and my crappy Sony receiver

The Axiom M60's are an unbelievable value. I have had the opportunity to listen to many different speakers over the last few years living with different roommates in college. After a year with each the PSB Image 2B, Infinity, AR, and Cerwin Vega LS-12 speakers, I had yet to hear a pair of speakers that really piqued my interest. The Infinitys and Vegas were loud, but the sound was awful. The AR's and PSB's sounded clean, but didn't have the punch I was looking for. The only speakers I had heard that I really liked were my uncle's Paradigm Reference 100's (the old ones with 2 8" woofers), but at $2000/pair, they were well out of my price range. So I began researching speakers and found out about the Axiom line. I was very skeptical at first since I could not audition the speakers, and came very close to buying a pair of Klipsch RF-35's at a local audio store. Luckily, I was swayed by Axiom's 30 day return policy and 5 year warranty. When the speakers arrived, I hooked them up and let them play at a low volume for a while since they were very cold. I was instantly amazed at the detail and clarity, even at a very low volume. After a half hour, I couldn't take it anymore, so I decided to give them some power and see what they could do. I was stunned by what I heard; I could not believe that 2 6.5" drivers could make sounds like that. I actually double checked to make sure that I turned off the sub! Unfortunately, my neighbor was also awestruck and let me know about it in no uncertain terms about 2 minutes later. It's been just over a month now and they're fully broken in...I still can't believe the sound that comes out of these speakers. For music, the sub has been decommissioned....I don't want to hear anything buy my sweet sweet Axioms! I now understand what people are talking about when they refer to speakers exposing the weaknesses in a recording. The bass is deep, clean, and tight. The mids are flawless, and the highs are spine-tingling, but never fatiguing to the ear. It's an amazing experience to hear music with all of the instruments clearly identifiable and note by note, rather than a muddled melody defined by the bass line. The only flaw I have noticed is that my Sony receiver can't do these speakers justice. I would love to try them on my uncle's preamp/Carver 250x2 amp setup, but I would never do it. He would have a serious case of buyer's remorse when he heard my $720 speakers outperform his Paradigm 100's! Oh yeah, Axiom is unbelievably friendly and prompt to work with. And I have yet to find anything wrong with the appearance of my 'B stock' speakers. Best bang for the buck in home audio, bar none!

Good clean clear sound, good bass-tight and fairly deep. Nice looking cabinets

Weakness:

I discovered Axiom while searching for replacements for my 14 year old 3 way towers that were beginning to decay. I had considered Polk, Def. Tech., Paradigm, Energy, AR, and MB Quart. I was impressed by the ratings and reviews for the Axiom M60s but a little in doubt about the bass of 2 6 1/2 inch drivers as my old units had 12 inch bass drivers. When the M60s arrived they seemed larger than the measurements implied. These are some good looking speakers- not custom real wood but now Axiom has the extra cost finishes for those who seek a more deluxe finish. The M60s are all the speaker I could want as part of a H/T setup. The sound is clear and they will play as loud as I can stand. Its true what everyone says about rediscovering their music collections, I was amazed at the things I heard for the first time on my own well known recordings. The bass is tighter and cleaner than my old 12 inchers. however I finally gave in and bought a sub for the H/T. I feel that there are better speakers out there but at nowhere near the price of the M60s so unless you are wealthy and have those golden ears I've heard about you will be hard pressed to top the value and performance of the Axiom M60. To those of you who question should you get the M80s or the M60s unless you have a 3500 sq ft plus room and like your music VERY loud I think the M60s should do nicely. Oh by the way I got mine form the factory outlet and I can not find one thing wrong with them

Strength:

Imaging Soundstage Clean, musical bass Comparatively deep bass Outstanding Highs Neutral and accurate, especially at price Nice height - tweeter on ear axis Decent enough looking Outstanding customer service Axiom forum - help from fellow users Great, well-priced complementary product line Confidence from bargain, long-lasting purchase

Weakness:

Vinyl veneers not as bad as expected, but not as nice as real-wood veneers Will expose faults in poorly recorded music Will make you want an all-Axiom system Will cause you to listen to too much music and watch too many movies

I love my M60s! They have great imaging and soundstage, easily fill my 14'x18' room, look good, were easy to position, and to top it off, Axiom offers the best consumer experience & service I've known with ANY PRODUCT, let alone an electronics product. As a bonus the complete Axiom line is highly regarded, from bookshelves to the VP-150 center and QS-8 surrounds, making the path to upgrading easy and enticing. It was not easy plunking down $800 (tax and shipping included) to try a speaker I'd never heard. The Axiom ads on this site didn't reassure me -- they actually made me more skeptical, as it seemed any company spending so much on marketing would be more concerned with scamming customers than delivering high quality. Axiom's 30-day return policy eased some concerns. But what really helped were the discussions on the Axiom message boards. Not only do customers, users and Axiom "addicts" exchange tips on these boards (while kindly offering help to people at all levels of experience), but people also engage in unfettered discussion of Axiom and other brands. The talk includes technical problems, critiques of Axiom subs, reviews of other brands, and direct comparisons people without Axiom editing or intervening, so far as I can tell. What kind of company would allow customers to get online and freely discuss -- sometimes critique -- their product? Only a company that had great faith in their own product. So I sucked it up and sold a pair of Energy eXL-25s that had worn on me overtime due to their lack of imaging and soundstage, coupled with a thin, sometimes electronic sound in the high end. (The Energy's were fine on HT, weak on too much music.) I have been psyched since the day I turned on the M60s. On James McMurtry’s “Paris” I hear cymbals and percussion that had not even sounded like instruments before. On David Gray’s “White Ladder” album, the bass is deep, fast and clean –one of the best things about the Axioms. They pump out clean musical bass – notes are distinct, they sound like notes, not muddy booms. The M60s are also distinguished for accuracy that will reveal breathing, incidental noises (cool) and even weaknesses (alas) in lesser recordings. The speakers have led my wife and I to revisit our CD collection, and one thing we notice is the range of quality in the recordings. Willie Nelson, for instance, has a great voice – but he has also popped off a few too many albums in his day, and with a set of speakers like the M60s you can tell which ones were well recoreded, which were not. (This is an advantage. If you can’t discern the quality of your recordings now, then you’re missing out on a lot of sound.) On home theater, I have less to say, only because two M60s are the only Axioms that I currently own, while transitioning slowly to an all Axiom system (minus the sub – I have a Hsu STF-2 sub per reccs on this board and the Axiom forums), which I hope to have complete by the end of the year. As mains the M60s are as excellent on HT and main-channel sound as for the greater demands of music. For those considering life without a sub, I can also say that the bass on the M60s is enjoyable – and a great improvement over many a speaker – unless perhaps you have a large viewing room AND are into films with lots of low frequency effects and the like. But even on some serious LFE they do well. For example I tested the infamous aquarium-tapping scene from “Finding Nemo” with my Hsu sub turned on and off. Of course, it was awesome with the sub on (and knocked a picture off the wall), but with the M60s hauling the bass, the moment was still startling and very deep. The M60s go down to 37 Hz +/- 3 dB, and with bass extension turned on, you can catch a bit of bass below 37 as well. It’s not going to perform the same as a sub, but if you like mainly classics and dramas, you will be fine. The HT bass performance was a MAJOR improvement over my Energy eXl-25s, even though they were rated down to 42 Hz +/- 3 dB. (All I can say is those 5 Hz from 42 to 37 must be critical, because the Axioms kick the Energy’s a$$ on the low end.) I prefer no sub on music, and the M60s are perfect for this configuration, which is about 75% of our listening. These are wonderful speakers. I’ve heard they compare very equably with Monitor Audio Silver S6 and S8 (the upgrade to Silver #i-line), another speaker I love. The Monitor Audio’s have real-wood veneers vs. a vinyl pseudo-veneer for the Axioms. I’d count that as a knock against Axiom – but I was prepared to send them back if they didn’t look good, and the truth is they do look fine, and would even in a more upscale setting than my toddler-infested house. There are so many good reviews on Axioms the last 3 years. All I can say is believe them. As well priced as they are, I’d place quality above price as their best feature. My system: Yamaha RV-1105 Axiom M60s - mains Energy eXLc - center Old Infinity SL 10s – surrounds Hsu STF-2 – sub

I selected Axioms M60s based on its overwhelming reviews. I did not have the chance to listen to these speakers before purchase so I wasn’t to sure what to expect, but with Axioms 30 day return policy, I figured Id give it a try. Axiom not only seemed to get a lot of praise online, but seemed to have a pretty loyal customer group. I found message boards where Axiom owners chatted quite frequently. This made me feel pretty comfortable that I wasn’t purchasing a no name product although they were out of Canada and only available from the factory at their website. Two things I heard about theses speaker was that they were a little bright and were light on the bass. I didn’t find this to be so. When I first hooked em up I thought I noticed the brightness I had heard about, but after a few minutes and some tweaking with the treble and bass, I discovered these speakers weren’t bright, but that I was hearing a whole spectrum of sound I hadn’t heard before. The sound was crisp and clear, not fatiguing. AS for the bass, it thought it was horrible, until I realized I had my receiver set for a sub, which I didn’t have at the time. After fixing that, I wondered if I even needed sub, although I did get one. The bass is very adequate for most music, but for movies and really bassy music you still need a sub I think. There’s a lot of good reviews out there about these speakers by audiophiles that can go into detail about the performance of these speaker and I will leave that to them. I just want it to sound loud and good and that it does better than I had expected. AS for Axioms customer service, check this out. I order a pair of M60s in the Boston Cherry. When I got my speakers, one was cherry, the other Beech and my wife didn’t like either. I loved the cherry but the wife said Black or else. What do I care, right? Anyways I call up Axiom and tell them about the mix up in colors and that I had changed my mind to Black. Axiom says no problem. Still I’m kinda bummed cuz I wanted to hear them. Axiom says take em out of the box and listen to them till the new ones get there, then send em back. That’s pretty impressive, shipping out a second set of speakers before getting the first ones back and with no charge. I know they had my credit card number and were really never in any risk, but still, that’s pretty kewl. Three days later I’ve got my new speakers and I ship back the others at no charge. $800 seemed like a reasonable enough price for speakers of this quality, but with Axiom, the shipping is included in the price, and not just any shipping but 2 day FED EX. That’s Kewl too :) I ended returning to Axiom for a VP150 center and the QS-8s for surrounds and I’m considering the M2s for rears and presence. Axiom is a great company with a great product that I would highly recommend.
