Strength:

Excellent speaker, can't be touch for the price. Clean highs, great imaging.

Weakness:

Lack the driver to produce most mid/low end frequencies.

Axiom really have convinced me of their speaker building abilities. Never having the chance to listen to the M1Ti's, all I had to go on were the reviews. The price helped push me to replace my Bose 301 (Never buying Bose again!!). First off I was very surprised at what $130 can get you speaker wise considering that I spent close over $300 some on the Bose. The highs were so clean, it made me finally understand why everyone says that Bose sound muddled and unrefined. The bass was, well... as good as you can expect from a 3.5" driver. A woofer that size just can't move that much air. The bass response probably would have improved with time, but being the impatient person I am I quickly purchased the acclaimed Axiom M3Ti and moved the M1Ti's to the rear. Still, if you're needs are majorily music, then these speakers can't be beat for the price.

Strength:

crystal clear high''s, smooth midrange... not congested at all. very good transparency and imaging. they do play well at fairly loud volumes. extremely neutral and tonal balance is dead on. i haven''t touched the bass/treble control once. they produce great sound even out of my Soundblaster Live! on my computer.

Weakness:

none. i would like more bass, but at the size and price, i don''t expect it. that''s what a subwoofer is for.

excellent speakers, the best for the price. they beat the paradigm atoms and titans everywhere except bass response. they do everything they are supposed to do at such high levels, it''s highway robbery. 5 year warranty and top notch customer service.

Strength:

Mids, transparency, clarity, cabinet, binding posts.

Weakness:

grilles are a little chintzy. Off-axis performance noticably different: Listen at ear level though and sound is wonderful.

These speakers are the best kept secret in the states! No one has heard of Axiom before and yet the M1Ti is one of the most amazing little speakers I have ever listened to. And these are the LITTLE guys in the Axiom family! I needed a new smallish set of speakers for my home theater/music system so I called my friend Marc at the AudioShop in Ontario, Canada. He has always been very helpful and he had helped me with my previous setup: Energy e:XL16's and an e:XLC center. Well, I ordered two pairs of Axiom M1Ti's and one VP50 center and I have to tell you - they cost less and sound better than my Energies!
I was floored! The speakers feature a trapezoidal speaker cabinet to eliminate standing wave issues and also feature nice gold binding posts out back. These speakers have a somewhat longer break-in period than the Energies but now that they're revved up BOY do they sound great. I cannot get over the transparency that these speaker display. Close your eyes and it's one gorgeous soundstage that just melts your room away. I have a new recommendation for all my friends looking for an inexpensive home theater. That recommendation is Axiom.

Strength:

Sound clarity, transparency, height (soundstage), price.

Weakness:

still missing "something". Shown as a budget speaker in retail outlets thus they team it with below par sources and amplifiers.

blew me away for the money. Better staging and transparency than any other speakers within $200 of price paid (IMOHO). Really nice audio speaker. HOWEVER; if you want to rock out at over 110db (which isnt unreasonable) go for the energys or paradigms. Id say this product is on par with mission 750 le rosewood ($500.00)for sound (not looks though)

A true bargain, sound way better than the kenwood reciever the salesman will have it plugged into.

Strength:

M3Ti Excellent price, will eat the paridigm monitor 20's or bose 501's and they are $1200.00 canadian or more, very fast

Weakness:

People who buy the $1200.00 Paridgm or the bose name because both of those companies are trying to get away with good advertising and cheap components rather than affordable excellent quality speakers and audiophiles that pay those prices and raise the prices of all audio gear

This is a review for the M3Ti's.Axiom makes a very good speaker and they could charge three times the price if they put a fansy cover on the front of them and had lots of advertising gimicks.Go to soundstage.com and read the awesome review it got from the professionals(not salesman). This speaker is more than powerful enough to fill a livingroom with deap rich sound and most of the people using it will be putting it in a bedroom.I bought mine from Graham at audiotronic in Ottawa and he gave me a great deal on these and also the Axiom M80's(under $900.00 canadian). They do take awile to break in though.I have the M3's,M80's,VP 150 and use the M3's as B front until I want to watch a movie and then I switch them to the back with banana plugs.I use a Teac reciever (AG-D9320) that has 130 watts true RMS and I picked it up for $500.00 canadian at costco. It has the ability to hook up seperates unlike the Onkyo 575x and you need that ability.I have proved that you don't need to spend more than $3000.00 for an excellent HT system.

All Canadian $
Axiom M80's Can't tell price but under $900.00
Axiom M3Ti's $300.00 or under
Axiom VP 150 $350.00
Teac reciever (AG-D9320) $499.99
Teac Cd Recorder (RW-D250) $400.00
Pioneer DV-C503 $400.00
I will be purchasing a used power AMP but I am looking very carefully.

P.S. Don't be the fool that goes for Sony,JVC,Kenwood,Bose or Paridigm and take your time and audition and read through reviews carefully. Thanks and don't hang around with audiophiles that pay $500.00 for a powercord.Acoustic research is plenty fine enough.

Strength:

Big, broad soundstage, great value, compact.

Weakness:

None

I needed compact speakers and was on a budget, and these Axioms have come up trumps! When matched with my Cambridge Audio gear, the quality of reproduction is amazing. I am enjoying listening to my music collection all over again. The value for money, I'm sure, can't be bettered. I not sure how long they take to fully run-in but the music just sounds better and better. Give these little speakers a trial. You wont be dissapointed.

Strength:

Excellent clarity on music and movies. Great price! These speakers are as well built as some I have owned that cost twice as much.

Weakness:

Very few people in the US know about them!

This review is actually for the M2ti's because most of the other AXiom products have not been listed here yet, I had no where to put this review and felt everyone needs to know about this company! I auditioned a great deal of speakers over the past few months before deciding on Axiom's after doing extensive research on them. I was unable to audition the speakers in my hometown because Fresno has become a vast audio equipment wasteland, therefore, I had to audition them for the first time in my home. The Circuit City's and the Good Guy's of the world has literally taken over this town. The last high end store in Fresno bit the dust around 96 so the internet has become a great blessing for me. I ordered the Axiom's along with their VP50 center channel speaker. Although I ordered all three speakers at the same time, the M2ti's came first. I hooked them up in place of my B&W's as the mains and placed the B&W's in the rear. I selected some of my favorite CD's and sat down to take a listen. I immediately recognized that my DM601's would never find their way back to the front left and right positions. The Axiom's had a very high level of clarity coupled with smoothness and sounded excellent. Over the past few years I have not felt the exitement about my vast CD collection because I always seemed to experienced that "listener fatigue" that you hear people in the audio world talk about. The B&W's were not over bright or anything, they just did not invite you to sit down relax and listen. These little Axiom's do. Now before you say, "but they're cheap, cheap speakers don't sound good!" Remember that in Canada, the've been doing alot of worthwhile research on loudspeakers for years, and nearly all of the budget canadian speakers I've ever heard (the Mirage's, Energy's, PSB's etc.) place alot of emphasis on sound quality as opposed to flash, marketing savy etc. Oh by the way, these are the best put together under $300.00 dollar speakers I have ever seen. Beside's that they are great to look at. My musical taste run the gamit from classical, to jazz to gospel, even some rock. But these little speakers handled it all with class. Of course they're is no real low end, but would you expect thundering bass from a box less than 12 inches high? However, the bass that is their is not sloppy. It is tight and realistic. Of course I will be adding a subwoofer later (Possibly Axiom's model 125)Good speakers stands are a must for these speakers, however I've found that placement isn't as critical as with some other speakers I've heard. I wanted to wait for my center channel speaker to audition movies with the Axiom's so I called the shipping company "Purolator" to get the status. The lady I spoke to was very friendly and explained that the other speaker must have been delivered in a different truck and that the driver must have "missed" the delivery. She would insure me that she would make note to make the delivery on Monday. Being that it was only Saturday morning when I called, I was a little irritated that I would have to wait 2 more days for my center, but I reconciled myself to the fact that movie auditions would have to wait. However, Monday morning, the speaker was at my door just as the customer relations person had promised. I quickly hooked it up, and auditioned Blade, U-571,The matrix, 102 Dalmations and a 1950's western "The Searchers" Home Theater did not dissapoint. My daughter and I marveled at the realistic sound, However, I did notice a slightly irrating sound from my rear channel B&W's when I put the DSP mode to Theater or Circle surround on movies and music. (The B&W's will eventually be replaced, maybe with the M3ti's or the M22ti's in Front and the M2ti's moving to the rear.) I don't want to ramble on, but I do want to say that this is a great bargin. Three great speakers for a total of only $390.00! Axiom includes the shipping cost in the actual cost of the speakers, for me that was another shock I thought for sure there'd be a $40.00 or $50.00 shipping charge. I want to close by saying their are some on this board who feel that we can't rate low cost speakers as 5's. What they fail to understand is that we are not rating it a 5 against $20,000 speakers, but we are rating it a 5 against other speakers in its price category or a little bit above. The Axiom Audio loudspeakers are a solid 5. I don't know of any speaker in or above their immediate price category that would be an improvement over them, factor this with the great service you get from Axioms staff and you come up with a real winner!

Weakness:

nobody knows of them

About two months ago i was looking for a integrated amp and i was looking at the yamaha ax-596 and i had some questions about it and i emailed a reviewer and during our contact i had mentioned that i was looking for a set of speakers for my porch and this guy was highly recommending Axiom. He was trying to tell me that they were comparible to some speakers from paridigm that were around 1000.00 and it didn't seem logical and i was very skeptical other than the fact that they are similar in size but i still thought it was very unlikely.I am familiar with paridigms line and i don't particularily like the studio 20 and i think that even paridigm offers better speakers for a lower price.I had heard a pair of Axiom speakers about 3 years ago and i didn't particularily find them all that great. So i did some research and read the review at soundstage and figured that it wouldn't hurt to at least find them so i could do a demo.To my surprise they were a much better speaker than i expected. The mids really stood out from the highs and i found the dispersion of the speakers to be phenomenal and talk about clarity. The cabinet construction is top notch for the price and the components are pretty decent for such a low cost speaker.I was really amazed at their performance and i have no idea why these speakers are not the number one selling bookshelf in the country.I stand corrected. So of course i picked myself up a pair for $300 canadian and i also purchased a vp150 for my livingroom for $400 which is an awesome price for this much technology and performance and in the near future i will probably invest in a set of M80's.I would have to say that these speakers dont belong in this price bracket and are really a true find. These little bookshelfs are really comparible to many other bookshelfs costing three times the price.I myself feel that they are a better all around speaker than the Paridigm studio 20 because i find that the 20's sound lazy and the mids just seem to go together with the highs which is very common in bookshelfs but then agian paridigm offers better speakers at lower price points and i like some of their speakers. It doesn't seem logical that a $1000 speaker should compare to a $300 speaker but they are near the same size and the cabinet on the M3 is a better design but it also doesn't seem logical that you can buy a set of M80s for less than a bookshelf when they must cost a fair penny more to build.I also like some speakers from other companies and everyone has different tastes but these speakers are really worth at least twice as much as they cost.High recommendation from this cat!!

Strength:

Outstanding all around performers

Weakness:

They're unknown in the US so people like jack/joe feel the need to slam them.

First Jack and now Joe! Do you both work for Bose? I am sure that neither of you have ever listened to the Axioms or any other high quality speaker. On the other review Jack said he bought his Axiom's at "Best Buy" What Best Buy carries these or any high quality speakers? (outside of the Sony subwoofer)

The fact that you both speak of Bose as an example of quality speakers is puzzling. All you need to do is look at the reviews for Bose speakers on this board to see that Bose speakers are very low end these days. But don't take the hundreds of reviewers word for it. Listen for yourself. Bose speakers are lo-fi. In fact I'm thinking maybe Jack and Joe are the same person. Someone bent on screwing up reviews on this board.

I cannot understand why you would want to distort the information provided on this board with your bogus reviews. I'm sure when you hear your next quality speaker it will be your first. This board was developed to offer sound advice to audio/video lovers. By attempting to review speakers which you have never heard, you cloud someone elses decision on what to buy, because I am sure their is at least one person out there who will take your review seriously.

After having the Axiom's (I have 3 l/c/r) for over a month now I can truly say they are great speakers, and yes, I am going to buy two more. Everyone who has listened to my system has marveled of the high level of sound quality coming from them. I have heard many of the great budget speakers from the last 25 years or so, and yes the Axiom's rate up their with the Spica's, the Spectrums, the Mirages, the B&W's, PSB's (even the entry level Vandersteens) and others I've owned or auditioned.

In conclusion, I hope seriously that this is not a trend about to develop. This board can do with out you mr.Jack-Joe, Joe-Jack, or who ever you claim to be in your next fraud-filled review.

After spending more time on my system, watching movies and listening to cool music such as Chet Baker, John Coltrane, Ella and Louie, Louie and Duke. These speaker get an even greater endorsement from me. If I could give them a 6 I would, but since the highest we can give is a 5 they get 5's across the board.

PS I hope the two bogus reviews are removed from this board asap!
