Strength:

very deep and fast bass;28 hz, incredibly clean sound, lots of details, looks

Weakness:

none

I have compared the black diamond to the Dynaudio and the Dali and i think the clean sound of the black diamond beats them all. Even the bass is deeper than the other speakers despite their size. I should also say that the black diamond cost almost half the price of the other tested. What can i say, BUY THEM!

Strength:

Neutrality, deep bass, clarity, overall soundstage.

Weakness:

None

Probably the best speakers you can buy for less than 10000:-
skr. The bass extension is truly amazing and I've never heard such clarity.I've tried speakers costing the triple or more, but still found the Black Diamonds to be clearest, most involving of them all. Maybe some of the others tested
would sound better in a different room or in another
system. When I started looking for new speakers I searched
the 10-15000:- skr. price bracket. That's how much I was willing to pay, but somehow the speakers tested all dissapointed me in some way. The reason I didn't try
the Black Diamonds at first is that they're simply too
cheap (5000:- skr.) I never dreamt that a speaker could
sound good at that price. My prejudgment cost me a lot
of blood, sweat and tears and an aching back from all the
carrying. But it was worth it. Now I know good hifi doesn't
have to cost more.

My room is 19 square meters, rectangular, well damped when
I listen critically.
My system:
Musical Fidelity A3 CD
Densen Beat B-100 amp
Tara Labs prism 55 interconnects
Van den Huul cs 122 hybrid loudspeaker-cables (biwired of course)

Similar Products Used:

Wijk Wizard Jr.(Standmounts, need a powerplant to be driven
properly, no bass extension)
Monitor Audio 705 pmc. (Pricey, my amp doesn't like metal cones)
Chario Hiper 1000 tower. (Weird impedance, even at moderate
volumes, my amp clipped)
Dali Evidence 470. (Probably a very good loudspeaker, but unfortunately I don't have a hangar to place them in. If I'd
follow the placement recommendations I'd have to put them on my coffee-table)
Dali Grand Coupe. (Standmounts, have to be driven by a powerplant, bass-extension ???)
ALR/Jordan Entry 6M. (BIG, ugly, too bassy, grainy treble)

Last but not least my beloved,15 years old;
Mordaunt Short MS 300. Recently modified with state of the
art-crossover, better binding-posts, better damping and inner cables. (Standmounts, easy to drive, clear, tight bass but since they're standmounts, no extension)

Strength:

Extremely well worth its price! Very versatile, broad [deep!] frequency response.

Weakness:

A bit sharp in the treble, but I've moderated that with my cables. Not available outside Scandinavia.

A supertest winner, which more or less tells it all. I'm personally amazed that I can get so much bass and such great pressure from a single 6.5" mid/bass. But its strongest part is the midrange: voices, pianos and guitars suddenly just appear in my living room. Easy to adjust bass level by moving it closer or further away from the wall, I keep mine about 20 cm out.
Interesting to see how they grow with different amps. I've tried it with a Quad 707 power amp with great results.

My current equipment:
CD: Sony CDP-XB930
Integr amp: Marantz PM-7000
Line cable: Supra DAC
Speaker cables: Supra PLY 3.4

Highly recommended!
