Strength:

The way they sound when played very low, price and looks.

Weakness:

Don´t play too loud!

These speakers are very good. I chose between them and a pair of Gales. I chose these because the had more to give according to me. Not as much detail but really nice bass. But ofcouse, they play very detailed. And they were cheaper. I am very satisfied with them and I warmly recommend Audio Pro to other buyers because of the perfomance/price vaule is enormous.

Go to the store and by yourself a pair!

Review:

I had a pair of Dali 104's with AudioQuest F-14 cable. When I moved to a new flat/apartment, I noticed that the larger room and the lack of floor carpets, made the sound too bass-boomy and the treble became a bit edgy and hars. It was time to move on to something better. I always enjoyed the Dali 104's for it's enjoyable, easy-going sound and big picture.

I've listened to:
Dali 350, B&W DM603, JPW ML 1010, Canton Fonum 650 and Audio Pro A2.42 Live.

The JPW came out the worst here. Big-boomy bass, and too much warmth. All the others were more detailed.

B&W DM 603 had a nice bass with a pleasing warmth to the lower midband/upper bass. Lively with a nice treble and much detail.

The Dali sounded quite similar to the 603's, but with a slightly more accurate and leaner sound. Very detailed and very stylish.

Then I listened to the Canton. It didn't had the detailing and neutrality of the Dali's, but it came close enough. The bass was tighter and more controlled than the B&W's. Overall, the musicality was high. I really enjoyed them, until I found...

The Audio Pro A2.42 live. Great speakers at a great price! I got them at half the price of the Canton's. Very neutral and detailed sound with a tight and controlled, distinct bass. They're a bit picky about partnering equipment. When I first connected them with the F-14's, they sounded too bright. Extremely detailed, distinctive and tight, but too analytical and the bass lacked scale.
I changed to Tara Labs Omni and got a nice warmth in the lower midband/upper bass region. Very pleasing. Perhaps not as detailed in the upper treble as the AudioQuest, but the overall sound suited me better. Build quality is excellent with good quality, gold plated, terminals. Since it's floorported, they're not picky about positioning. I'm very happy, so happy that I'm thinking of replacing my ageing Micromega with a new CD player. Perhaps the Marantz 67 OSE. the Audio Pro speakers really shines with good equipment. They're not party speakers,
but they sound great with my favourite music.

Well I test-listened to these speakers couple of times before I bought them and here are few reasons why..They're extremely cheap compared to the performance. The sound (in my opinion) is clear and maybe too much bass, but not irritatively much. I like bass so these were great choice for me since they go to 28Hz (or so the specs say. I'll just say that they go low enough) I also bought these because a good subwoofer is hard to find in pricerange of under $200 :)
I'm satisfied with these one cannot expect too much from speakers this price, but still these are one of the best speakers in the pricerange.
They've earned the four stars I give em.

I'm a 15 year old boy from Norway, and I bought these speakers as my second. I really listened to many speakers before I made my mind. For that price, I couldn't find anything better. The deep bass is the first thing you notice, it is rich an deep, but not o much of it. The midrage and tweeter sounds great, and is comfortable with a lot of details. Heavy and good build and easy to drive. Great!

i bougt theese speakers after a few minutes. To a that ceep price thees are the best! I had been looking for speakers in nearly two years, but hadnt found any which were this satisfying in boath bass, ditail, acurisition and last but not least teir ability to play jazzespecialy. Tecno and party music they dont manage quite that well, but that is not what they are built for.
Thanks Audio Pro for making this speaker

This is a really good speaker. And it´s not expensive either, for this quality it´s even CHEAP.

A2.42 LIVE sounds exellent! The sound is really open and filled with details. It goes deep in low freq. and have a really open high.

I agree with the other reviewers: A2.42 LIVE is not so good for techno/dance-music. A2.42 is just a bit laid-back and is not the kind of speaker that wants to show of it´s biceps all the time (tough it do has muscles). It´s not really bad playing this kind of music, but it´s just much better playing other kinds of music.

Otherwise these speakers are great allrounders: They are very good at classical/pop/rock and they really show their true nature playing jazz and acoustic and Nick Drake-ish kind of music.
