As I already said: accuracy, cleanness, focusing and soundstage including depth. One doesn't listen speakers though one listens music - Virgos will disappear!

Every speaker have their limits, so does Virgo. The lowest bass is weak(below 40 Hz). If one listens in very high volume, the dynamic limitations will come out, but who does, because in that case one will damage ones ears!

I listened seriously Magneplanar 3.6, Audio Physic Avanti III, Audiophysic Virgo III and Acapella Harlekin speakers when I was purchasing new speakers. Conclusion was that Virgo III offers clearly best value for money! All these are excellent speakers, but they have their personal features too. Virgo III gives extremely high level accuracy, cleanness, focusing and soundstage(depth too!). If one listens in normal volyme Virgo is even better than Avanti III in some areas(for ex. acoustic guitar and piano sound) ! Mg 3.6 has more dynamic limitations and slightly coloured sound in comparasion to Virgo. Harlekin's sound was a little bit too dark and not so focused for me. Avanti III was too pricey and had some minor misses. So the choice was rather easy to make

In fact it is very hard to mention similar products. In my opinion Virgo III belongs to the same class as Avanti III, Acapella LaMusica and Martin Logans higher models.

Okeydokey. I have had these Virgos for 6 months(see previous review). THEY JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER! I really can't put into words how awesome these speakers sound! Regardless of what type of music I am listening to, be it rock, classic or Jazz. Jack Johnson is right there on my couch doing a solo gig! I can't believe that a loudspeaker can sound like these Virgo 2's. Get them at any price

precision,imaging, huge sound stage, hits the highs very easily. stand up bass sounds unbelievable. i could swear james taylor is sitting 5 feet in front of me right now. if your thinking about it . buy these speakers

they show me that my phonostage is in desparately need of an upgrade. its only a weakness because now its going to cost me 2 grand to upgrade

ok i bought a pair of virgos .mostly on the merits of the reviews you guys left here.i upgraded from platinum solos (which are no slouch in the imaging and soundstage end.) ive listened to coincident super eclipse(definitely bassier than the virgos but nowheres near the soundstage). coincident victory(also bassier and alittle better soudstage than the eclipses, but not even close to the virgos,i loved the efficiency of the victory). also listened to the silverline sonatina2's(great speaker,but the midrange and soundstage was not as good again as the virgos). so i bought the virgos 400 cheaper than any other speaker i listened to. and i couldnt be happier, imaging ,soundstage and glorious midrange are what i like best and these do it as well as anything at any price ive ever heard. thank you everybody,the only problem im encountering is now it shows me i need a better phonostage. my equipt: vpi aries/jmw10/grado statement bat vk3i w/internal phonostage bat vk-60 virgos w/ aq caldera speaker cables and python interconnects

The first time you may think it's expensive(Retail $6000 birds eye finish... but if you find a used one below $3000, grap it! Hopefully you find the limited edition, Birds eye...) but worth every penny!

I have possessed more than 30 speakers and listened more than 200 speakers through my whole life and these were the best next to their upper models. a couple of months ago, I stopped by a shop and at the same time a man traded these with a upper model of PHYSIC and I had a chance to listen these and had a huge crush on these which shows such a ghost like soundstage & image. The only thing these lacks were bottom bass below 30Hz which I really didn't care... actually bass was sufficient enough also it needs a lot of experiment to place properly but definitely worth it.(it's must!!!) It's hard to describe the character of these beauties in words. The reviews here below 5 stars, I strongly suggest you guys repositioning yours. And then praise again! I am giving 9 stars(due to lacking of bottom bass Forget about what you've heard until now and be prepare to be spoiled! ^^ I sold my Nautilus 803 right next day I got these. No regret ever...

Linear response, open, again huge soundstage...now that I know what that means..Just plain beautiful fidelity. In a very small footprint, at a very nice price - for the quality. DO NOT! let a pair pass you by if you are sitting on the fence about them.

Alrightythen, to all of those who extolled the virtues of the Virgo, thank you so very much! It was on your advice that I purchased these SUPERB speakers sight unseen. To all of those negative critics appearing in these reviews..BLOW! the only taste you have is in your mouth! Anyway, these speakers give me an emotional rush secondary to their huge soundstage, and precise imaging! Just like you all have said. And furthermore, from such a small footprint... perfect for my home theatre tastes. For those anxious about exposed drivers prior to purchase?I think they look superb as is. Art in music so to speak.. Exquisite detailed imaging really trips my trigger...I'll give them a 8.8 on a scale of 1-5. A steal at the price I have paid for them....These awesome speakers are driven (quite nicely I might add)by the Sunfire Classic Tube Preamp and Sunfire signature Amp

Disappear better than any speaker I have hear regardless of price, 3 Dimensional, harmonically accurate unlike any speaker I have heard, Best under $10k speaker period

Underprice for what you get, very revealing of anything fed into them so don't use colored electronics

I have heard B&W's, Theils, Martin Logans, J something Utopias (way overpriced), Avalons, Dunlavy, Vanderstein and most everything else on the market. None of these products made me want to consider spending thousands except the Virgos. I heard my own pair at a friend's house and he hand them in his bedroom. I had gone to his house to listen to the new Matrin Logan Prodigy. The funny thing is that we listened to Virgos for about 90% of the time. I did not have the heart to tell my friend the Virgos were better. He knew. That is why he sold his new Prodigys two weeks later and the Virgo were in his living room. He actually upgrade from the Virgos to the Avanti III. Guess what... He is now kicking himself for selling the Virgos to me because he doesn't like the new metal cones on the Avanti IIIs. If you are looking for something that you will never get tired of listening to then these are the speakers for you. They disappear completely. It is almost scary how they disappear. Voices are at a life like height in your room. They sound like a precision instrument, not like speakers. The only problem with them is that you must get the equipment right, because you will know instantly if it is colored.

Detail, warm, airy, soundstage, imaging, musical!

Nothing, okay some bass extension. I do not miss it.

This review is for the Virgo 2, witch is a really nice speaker. I love those details, that open soundstage and the warm and musical sound. I do not like the Virgo 3 that much. In objective terms it is probably better than the Virgo 2, but I find them too precise and a little cold. The Avalon Symbols were also very good, but lacks some bass extension. You need a powerful amp with the Symbols.

To laid back. Does not have very good dynamics.Just wish the rest of the spearker was as good.

Was not that impressed, as the other people were. Thought they had A very sweet ,and forgiving sound. Did not think they were as strong in presentation as some of the other speakers I listen to.Very nice sound. To many in this price range or lower tha are better.

Well for those of you who have the Virgo I or II, I highly recommend you listen to the III. I have had my Virgos for 5 years and have just traded them in on the Virgo III. The changes are huge! The Virgo III is incredible!

So,here we have the best speakers money can buy.Look no further it is a wasteland.You will spend much more and improve 5%.....Match with a good amp (read ARC VT-100 Mk2) it will bring you audio heaven to your door steps.......
I belive that they are truly the best buy in speaker category under $ 15000.
