Strength:

Nothing matches the reality of dipole bass. Other Linkwitz designs may slightly improve on the Vivaldi but with the additional cost and complexity of active crossovers and multi channel amplification on each side.

The dipole Vivaldi mid range matches or exceeds anything I have heard including the Orion.

Weakness:

The Vivaldi high frequency performance is good but not great. I find the best ribbons outperform domes by a significant margin.

The Vivaldi requires an amplifier capable of driving 4ohms at very high power.

My speaker ownership lineage includes AR3a, Nelson Reed 804, BG Radia, Ohm Walsh and Audio Artistry Vivaldi. I have extensively auditioned and reviewed many others including various VMPS and the Linkwitz Orion. I would put the Vivaldi very near the top in terms of recreating the illusion of being there. Although not state of the art in every respect, I do almost all of my listening on the Vivaldi.
