I n ow have two pairs of these. I compared them to other small bookshelf speakers: B&W 302, NHT SuperOne and SuperZero, Niles, and a few more.
The 310's are approx. the same size as the SuperZeros. They have a clean and extended high end, and a marvelous midrange. The bass is a little boomy for me, so I have the bass tone control on my NAD 711 at 9 o'clock. These speakers are night and day more clear and articulated through the mids and high end than the NHT. I find the midband unacceptable with the B&W 302's which I first bought and returned, since its midrange seems muddy to me.

My first pair is AV shielded (it come EITHER av shielded, or as an All Weather model with mounting brackets) and is sitting on the shelf of my TV rack under the Mitsu monitor, with the Mitsu VCR and the NAD 711 on the bottom shelf.
other pair is for surrounds in a HT environment, as they come with some wall mounts included.

My second pair is used as surrounds in a Denon 3000/ Sonus Faber Concertino + REL StrataII sub/ Rotel 985 amp/ B&K 1030 pre/pro setup.

These are not easy to find these days, but you should try to audition them.

Strength:

Smooth Treble

Weakness:

lack of bass below 65hz, need plenty of power to dive them.

I have used these for about 20 years. I was going to buy some Tannoy m-1s but I got replacment updated woofers for the a/d/s instead. I use these with a Cambridge Soundworks
Subwoofer which I got 2 years ago. I can't find better sound in speakers this size and I tried B & W, Mirage as well as Tannoy. Maybe my ears are set in their way but these are great and worth the effort to locate as a/d/s seems to spend more time on car audio.
