Weakness:

SUCCESS!!... I GOT ALL MY MONEY BACK!!

After much effort, I have PREVAILED!!

Yes I got my money back. They tried to imtimidate me, but I held my ground. Let's just say the guy kicked me out of his office. BUT after he realized that he was F@#$'ing with the wrong guy, meaning that I was the kind of guy that would go straight to the State's Attorny Office to File my case with all the evidence I had without a second thought, he gave me a FULL REFUND... NO QUESTIONS ASKED. At first, he was pissed because I had a counter for every single LIE he was telling me. He was so pissed that I wasn't getting intimidated, and he was so pissed that I didn't fold to his crap. After kicking me out, he literally stopped me as I was just about to get into my car after seeing me making a phone call(probably thinking I was talking to a prosecutor). He said WAIT, come back, my manager wants to talk to you. THE MANAGER, and all this time he was acting like he ran the place. Lucky him he stopped me, otherwise they would've lost their Chicago market sooner than expected. Anyway, read the details below for they tell EVERYONE this inorder to NOT give you your money back!!
------------------------------------------------------------
If you fit the following criteria, I'm going to detail everything out for you:

You feel you were/are:
1)Ripped Off
2)Want a FULL REFUND
------------------------------------------------------------
Where you need to go to get your money back:

If you LIVE IN CHICAGO, and BOUGHT THEM FROM CHICAGO, go to:

Chicago Soundivision
753 Springer Dr.
Lombard, IL 60025

Mapquest gives VERY precise directions. It's located in a suburban business district, and once you get there, you'll find White Unmarked Vans with NorthCarolina, Georgia, and Illinois plates on them, The warehouse door will also say 'Chicago Soundivision'.

For OTHER PLACES OTHER THAN CHICAGO:
Each region will have it's own local distributor. It is up to YOU to research/investigate where these distributors are in your neck of the woods. The ScamShield link below will help. Start making phone calls, and hopefully you'll find them. They are NOT listed in the yellowpages, so start brainstorming.
------------------------------------------------------------
Other places/numbers you may need if you need to take legal action in Chicago:

The Lombard Police Department
235 E. Wilson Ave.
Lombard, IL 60148
Non Emergency (630) 620-5955
Emergency 911

Talk to Lieutenant Scott Watkins and/or Sergeant John Lavery. They manage the Department of Investigation.
------------------------------------------------------------
DuPage County State's Attorney's Office
Joseph E. Birkett
505 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton Illinois 60187
(630) 682-7050, Fax: (630) 682-6987 TDD: (630) 510-3611

Talk to Joseph if you're going to take Legal Action.
------------------------------------------------------------
Chicago Fox News Investigative Report Contact:
Contact me for this because I won't disclose his email publically. Fox pretty much concluded their report, and have sent the copy of their report to all the appropriate Authorities.
------------------------------------------------------------
VERY VERY USEFUL links: I strongly advise you to visite these sites, and read them carefully.

ScamShield: www.scamshield.com/ScamAlert.asp
DuPage County Judicial Center: http://www.co.dupage.il.us/jofbldg.html
Lombard Police Department:

------------------------------------------------------------
Things YOU need to get your money back:
1) Be honest: They log everything. If they feel you are trying to 'rip' them off, they will become hostile.

2) Setting of Sales Transaction: Remember WHERE, WHO, HOW MUCH, and WHEN you bought the speakers.
------------------------------------------------------------
Things you DON'T NEED:
1) Reciept
2) Plate Numbers
I advise that you DO know these things, but if you don't... you should still get your money back. If not... You know where the State's Attorny's Office is.
------------------------------------------------------------
Things they will say (LIE) about to get you out of their office or to NOT give you the FULL refund that you deserve AND HOW TO COUNTER THEM:

1) What's wrong with the speakers?
Counter with:
"Nothing, they work, it just doesn't sound as good as I wanted them to be."

1a) How did you get these speakers?
Counter with:
*just give them your honest answer*

2) Did you try the speakers?
Counter with:
"Yes."

2a) What kind of person buys speakers from a van anyway?
Counter with:
*This a guilt trip tactic. Don't let this throw you off or fire you up. They respect answers like the following:*
"I was greedy, that's right, I admit it. But what kind of business sells their speakers through unmarked white vans? I just want my money because Christmas is coming up and I still need to get gifts."

3) Do you have a reciept?
Counter with:
"No, the person didn't give me one."

4) We're not the only ones that carry these speakers.
Counter with:
"The person who sold them to me said he WORKS for Chicago Soundivision."

5) The van drivers are not our employees, we sell our speakers to them for $225, and they in turn sell them to the customers. We are not responsible for what they do. We can refund you $225, and we will get the rest from the driver who sold them to you when he gets back.
Counter with:
"I understand you how you distribute your speakers, but how you split up your money is none of my concern. Besides, if they are not your employees, how come the reciept THEY give out say Chicago Soundvision on them? If they are not your employees, how come you have detailed records of what they sold, how much they sold it for, and where they sold it? Are you going to tell me that I can't connect you to those white unmarked vans parked outside in a court of law?"

6) Sorry, you had three days to return the speakers, you don't have a reciept.
"Your worker didn't give me a reciept. Look, I'm just trying to be honest about what happened to me, and all I want is a full refund. It took me awhile to actually find this place. You know that this place is NOT listed in the Yellow Pages."

7) You had 3 days, and you have NO reciept. We can't give you a refund, now get the hell out of our property.
"Very well, I tried to be honest about everything, and all I wanted was a full refund for these speakers. If you want to make this a legal matter, then fine. I already filed a formal police report about you guys. And now I'm going to go to the State's Attorny's Office at the Dupage County Judicial Center to get a court order. Cya in a couple weeks." Leave the office, bust out your cell phone, and call the State's Attorny's Office, and literally ask the person to walk you through about how you can take someone to court. Call the police and tell them that you would like to have these people arrested for conducting fraudulant business. Do this so they can see you doing this ie next to your car. Go as far as you can with it, and they will ask you to go back into their office to "work something out".
------------------------------------------------------------
Once they fold to the pressures of a very serious lawsuit they will:
1) Write a check for the full amount

2) They will make you sign a "Refund Form". This form basically states that you hold Chicago Soundivision faultess of all wrong doings.
NOTE:
Don't worry, sign it. That paper doens't mean SQUAT in a court of law because you will have signed it under DURESS. Meaning you were intimidated into signing the form, and if you didn't sign, you wouldn't have gotten your refund: THAT'S ILLEGAL. AND DO NOT GIVE YOUR REAL ADDRESS OR REAL PHONE NUMBER UNLESS YOUR DAD/MOM IS A COP/GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL or something like that.

3) Once you get the check. Ask where their bank is, and how to get there. CASH THE CHECK IMMIDIATELY.

4) File a report to the State's Attorny's Office. If they keep on getting reports from various people about the same fraud, then they will be forced to start a formal investigation. And THIS will drive them out of our State once and for all.
------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I hope that this helps people. Remember, don't be afraid of these guys, be truthful, be honest, be consistent, be strong, be vigorous. These are aggressive salesman, YOU have to sell them into believing that if they don't give you your money back, THEY are going to lose more in a court of law. Good luck.

SCAM!! Don't believe ANYTHING THEY SAY! THEY ARE NOT WORTH $1200!! They're not even worth $75!!

Weakness:

SCAM!! They will use the following shady sales techniques ILLEGALLY: Foot in the Door, Door in the Face, Low Balling, and just plain ole COERSION!

=====TOPIC 1==========================================
Here in Chicago, I've been making much progress in my research. Please read my previous posts for more understanding. A chicago Fox News investigative reporter has contacted me, and has given me the following information regarding this scam:

1st Email:
> Thank you for your email. We did do a story on the
> white van speaker scam. It is quite a tangled web
> of paperwork and several offices. I cannot
> guaruntee you will be able to recieve any money
> back. They are located at 753 Springer Dr, In
> Lombard. Chicago Soundivison. I don't have a
> number. Good luck. I will keep you on file for the
> states attorneys office in case they need victims.

2nd Email:
>They have been in trouble in the past. In fact the head of >the operation who lives in Atlanta already
>served 5 years probation for this scam. We have contacted >the Northern District of California ( this is who >prosecuted him) and their hands are tied because he is now >operating outside of their jurisdiction. He also has >finished his probation. We hope to get some local >response. We have a tape of our investigation in all the >appropriate peoples hands.

Don't give your hopes up... These people are going down, and they won't even know what hit them.

======TOPIC 2==================================
I've also recieved an email from a representative of the REAL ACOUSTIC IMAGE company. Now I have to stress that THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY THAT MANUFACTURES THESE FRAUDULENT SPEAKERS.

He wishes to remain ananymous, and he is very concerned over the fact that these fraudulent speakers are bearing his comapany's honest name.

The REAL Acoustic Image Company makes high end Amplifiers. They have NOTHING to do with home theatre speakers at all.

I only mention this so there is no confusion on this topic so people can go in the right direction in putting Chicago Soundivision and other distributors of these speakers away.

For more information, or if you want to get your money back, Please feel free to contact me:

=========TOPIC 4===================================
Ah, alas, judgement day...

I hope those punks check out their product's review on this site because this is a message to those HS dropouts and wannabe-somebody punks who are selling these speakers:

I admit, you caught me off guard, but guess what... I'm a 23 year old consultant, and companies pay me and my team $250/hr per person for our services. So whatever cash you had left after your dictator master bossman took away from your self-dignity-stripping slave work, I can honestly say I made my money back in about 2 hours. Live with that for your next cardboard box birthdays you sewer rats. And use soap when you shower, because you didn't exactly smell clean either.

Oh don't worry about your bosses. They're going to meet a much worse fate in the form of a big h0rny convict behind thier butt cheeks in a shower than what cruel life will have installed for your poor pathetic souls. Will changing your ways offer you forgiveness? Eventually. Will you go on, unpunished by oh cruel life for your wrong doings? Sorry dudes, but you're screwed on this one. So with all that in your minds, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I know I'll be having a good one. did that hurt? hit a little too close to home?... GOOD!

Strength:

These speakers(out of the box) can almost beat out the speaker on my G.E. alarm clock.

Weakness:

The retail value..$1200(according to the Printshop Delux laminated printout sheet) Cmon... I took these apart at my shop, no reinforcement, no dampening material, titanium tweeters?!... more like cheap metal!... and the casing is made of something inbetween wet bread and rotten cardboard... DO NOT SPILL A DROP OF WATER ON THESE SPEAKERS... casing peeled out of the box.

I knew what I was getting into, and I'm pretty sure they knew I wasn't going to buy them for $1200, or $500, or whatever the hell they were thinking. Not a bad pair of speakers (cuz they actually work)). Very customizable(you kinda have to do this to make them sound decent and not fall apart from the bass). High to Mid-freq range is OK, but then again, what speakers can't make decent high to mid-freq range? Low-freq is sub-standard (I wouldn't be playing 69-boyz on these suckers).

Other than that... regular parts you can find at any hardware store to re-inforce them from the inside. Some long wooden screws here and there. Some non-flamable dampening materials... and you're good to go. Definitely NOT loud enough for a large party at college (the dude said they were speakers used in various clubs, uh.. are those clubs still in business?). I think I'll give these to my little bro at NYU. Better luck next time fellas.

Strength:

they look like good quality speakers... They are heavy.

Weakness:

That I cannot locate an actual retail store that sells them legitately. So even if they are good speakers (I haven't tried them yet because I don't have the cables to hook them up to my stereo system) I can never really verify the value of the speakers.

My husband, daughter and myself were driving down the highway in a rush to get me to school because my car was in parking garage at my job and would not start. So needless to say I had a few things going through my mind while driving down the highway 95 headed South near Exit 29 when a VAN with a male and female drove along side of us. It wasn't really a white van--more like a gray van... The woman was shouting out with a smile we have speaker and have to get rid of them! She kept shouting this out! So---I say to my husband she needs to get rid of some speakers why don't we take a look. He pulls over. Now this a busy part of the highway(heavy traffic) so I was getting a little figedy sitting in our car waiting for my husband to finish talking to the woman while our car was swaying back and forth from the air pressure of the heavy trucks speeding by. The man sat up front and the woman was very hiper. She was very enthusaistically talking up these speakers to my husband. Finally, about four minutes later he gets back to the car and says they are selling this $1200.00 surround sound system for $600.00 and I offered them $200.00 and they would not take it. I then started thinking about it because from this view of being parked directly behind the van and seeing all of the brand new looking boxes I started thinking a whole surround sound system for $200.00 if they will accept that amount from us isn't bad! I figured even if they weren't all that we could definitely sell them for more than we paid or keep them, whatever!
However, there was no need to go over them because they came right over to us. Well, the mand did. He was about age 25. He was skinny and looked wired. He said, OK. we will take $200.00. So I said OK, then follow us to exit 27 and we will go to a bank to withdraw the money. It just so happens that my class is right over there so I was happy to be leaving the highway and getting there!

My husband had told them earlier that our bank account only allows us a $200.00 withdrawl limit so I advised him as soon as we found a parking spot go and get the money out now before they escort you to the ATM. He did not instead he walked with me over to the truck. So I figured I would get a look at these speakers myself. The lady stayed in the truck while the man got out and seemed to be in a rush. He escorted my husband to the ATM. So meanwhile I started looking for a pen in my coat pocket so that I could write the license plate Number of their commerial NJ plate down. I found one, but before I could write it down the woman starts talking to me. Asking why my husband didn't just go to Fleet instead of People's Bank. I said we don't have an account with Fleet and they charge a fee for that reason. She said oh, they are taking a long time. I said yes, because there is heavy security there. So she says you guys better buy us dinner one of these days if you see us around because you are really lucky to be getting these speakers only because we need to get rid of them and all! She had told my husband earlier that they had been received in error and were unaccounted for; therefore, she could not return to the factory warehouse with them. However, oddly enough they were legally hers?? So anyhow, she made some small talk with me. She told me she was from Isreal... So they returned and I got a chance to write the license plate down: X8208H and it said it was Commercial.. So they continue to talk up these speakers then I see the boxes up close and the guy is saying we get one box only. The box has a twin tower set of speakers... I say to my husband that is it??? What happened to the surround sound system? He says I don't know... So then we start opening the boxes. The lady chimes in I want to keep these and points to some 6.5 Acoustic Image 300 watt speakers. The guy pulls out a nice looking lamenated sheet of paper showing the colorful layout of the speakers priced at $1200.00. I start to thing well if these smaller speakers are worth that much then it doesn't matter that were not getting the whole system. The lady is wearing a badge ID. It seems legite. There is warranty info. So we buy them. I get home and look on the Internet excitedly hoping that they are the good brand they have promised! Well I find Acoustic Image BUT it does not show any speakers.... So I start frantically looking around nothing. I go on EBAY and find the same set of equipment (the whole system) being advertised in BPT CT!!!!! The bidding was at $400.00! Then the same speaker is advertised in Maryland the girl says they were a gift and she knows very little about them and is just giving a description of what it says on the box!! The bidding was at $41.00 two days into the auction for the Acoustic Image 6.5 twin speakers.... So I will wait and see what happens. I am going to call the number on the warrenty deed and see. I also have a phone number for the real Acoustic Image : 1-800-420-2259. I called earlier and left a message it was like 8:00 regarding the speakers, but they sold guiters and amps so it is doubtful that they also manufacture these speakers yet do not have them advertised on their website at all.... Wait till I tell my husband tonight about this website. All I remember him saying last night was I hope we didn't get scammed!

For $50... not a bad buy...

Weakness:

It's worth only $50 bucks!! It's NOT NOT NOT worth $1200. Generic materials, Standard (nothing special) about how it was assembled. DEFINITELY NOT a Bose/JVC/Pioneer/Kenwood BEWARE!!! NOT AWESOME SPEAKERS

OK, I was scammed for $380 bucks for TWO yes TWO of these minitowers... such is life, and I have learned from my ways. And that's what I get for being greedy and stupid.

BEWARE OF THE FOLLOWING BRAND OF SPEAKERS FOR THEY ARE ALL SOLD IN SUCH A MANNER:
1. Acoustic Image
2. Denmark
3. Dynalab
4. Acoustic Response (in Canada)
5. Acoustic Lab Technology
6. Digital Dogg Audio

All of the brands mentioned above are worth no more than 50bucks a pair. If you don't believe me... check them out on Ebay. And if you don't believe that the quality of the speakers are only worth $50, take one apart yourself.

You have 3 business days (legally) to return these speakers back to the distributors.

Known distributors in the CHICAGO LAND AREA:
Jam Audio Distributor
853 Fairway Drive
Bensenville, IL 60106
Phone: (630) 766-5909
Contact Name: Joe Murry... just ask for Joe

Expan, Inc.
3701 Berdnick Street
Rolling Meadows, Illinois 60008
(847) 202-4640
(847) 202-4645
Contact Name: Don't Remember

Jam Enterprises will DENY that they distribute Acoustic Image products. They will do officially carry Denmark speakers... again, same $50 quality speakers priced at $1200.

Expan, Inc. will ALSO deny that they distribute Acoustic Image Products... I believe these guys because they sell Dynalab Speakers which are the same speakers.. just different name... and which makes it legal.

When returning the speakers... don't mention anything about a scam. Otherwise, they will be on the defensive side. Just say you simply DO NOT like the sound of the speakers, and you want a FULL REFUND. You don't even need a reciept because these guys know how shady (foot in the door, low balling, door in the face) sales tactics. They will do whatever you want when threatened with a serious court order.

I hope this helps people. If you want more information.. follow this link:

If you were ripped off (ie paid more than 50 bucks for two speakers). Demand your money back!!

Fox News Investigative Reporter has contacted me, and gave me this information. Fox also did a Consumer Investitive Story which was aired during Thanksgiving of this year.

They are building up a strong solid case, and I have pledged my co-operation with Fox to bring these people out of business.

You are NOT ALONE. After some research, I've found that about 40 people have been ripped off in such a way in the chicago land area (i.e. payed more than 50 bucks and are PISSED).

To anyone who wants to return these speakers, and demand their money back, and who are pissed, please contact me at

james_hunvanich@yahoo.com

I believe it's better to go as a group. And it doesn't matter when you bought the speakers, just try to remember when, where, and how much you bought the speakers for and they will refund your money.

Good luck people.
