Strength:

Low frequency extension.
Smooth and detailed midrange.
Sweet highs.
Fit and finish is first rate.
Contour switches for matching other than VA front speakers.
Matches and exceeds performance of higher priced competitors' center channels.

Weakness:

Heavy and maybe a little deep for some applications.

Used as center channel and as surround channels with VA Mahlers as fronts. Shares same strengths as Mahlers with extended bass response, smooth and open mids and sweet highs. Uses of dual 9" woofers enhances low end performance. Reproduces voices with great detail and smoothness. Does have contour switches which allows them to match speakers other than VA for front channels. Very solidly built and quite heavy for center channel. I've used other center channels including Revel Voice, Legacy Marquis and Magnepan CC center. The Revel Voice was the best fo those three past centers but the VA Oratorio provides comparable or better performance at a lower cost. Not quite as forward sounding as the Revel Voice in the midrange and has better low frequency extension.
