Strength:
Clear highs and excellent mid-range and bass
Weakness:
suited for small to medium sized rooms only Overall, the speaker was by far the best I have heard, and this was in comparison with big performers like the Energy's EXL-C5. No distortion whatsoever, and the sound fills the room admirably. One definitely need a subwoofer to substantiate any bass requirements. Similar Products Used: Pioneer home theatre in a box |

Strength:
Performance, value, sound quality, frequency response.
Weakness:
No power port like the cs400. Very good center for the money. Paid about 200 and i could not be much happier. It is not tinny, and it can handle high levels w/ very little distortion or waning. Clear dialogue and very good for music. I used this in a system to replace my sub/sat from jbl. The difference is amazing, but i expected it. I have Polk RT35's for mains and surrounds. I bought a velodyne sub (ct120), and that is also amazing (see review). Good little speaker, very good value. Better than infinity! Similar Products Used: harmon kardon/jbl |

I've owned the CS 245 for about a month and I couldn't be happier with it's performance. This is definitely one of the smoothest, natural sounding speakers I have ever heard. It handles movie soundtracks with ease and adds warmth to vocals on music. Even when pushed to play at loud volumes, it handles the task with the greatest of ease. This exceptional speaker has an outstanding bass response, down to 52Hz, which is uncommon for a typical center channel speaker. Then again, this is no typical speaker! |

Strength:
Great sound and clarity.
Weakness:
None that I see so far. Well, I finally broke down and purchased a center channel speaker. I made the mistake of getting the Bose vcs170. What a "junky" center speaker. I took it right back and checked out the Paradigms and Polks. I was instantly sold on the Polk. I have to say that this is the best speaker for the $200 to $250 price range. The bass is really impressive for a center speaker. And the tweeter, whew, don't get me started. Try watching a movie, like The Matrix or Sleepy Hollow, and hold on to your ears. Every time there are high sounds in the movie (such as heads being lopped off in Sleepy Hollow) my ears want to bleed :) It's wonderful. This is a great center channel speaker. If you haven't tried Polk, or if you are a longtime fan, go out and get this speaker. I know that the CS400 is better but for this dollar value you cannot beat this with any other speaker on the market now. Similar Products Used: Bose, Sony, Paradigm |

Strength:
Powerful Sub
Weakness:
None This is a great sub with great bang to it. Recently purchased stronger main speakers RT600, needed a stronger sub PSW 400. If anyone is interested getting rid of my PSW 250 150 brand new in box. Similar Products Used: Polk PSW 350 |

Strength:
Clean, powerful
Weakness:
Kinda big (but I guess that comes with being a good speaker). I'm no audiophile at all (as evidenced by my past use of Advent speakers :) ). But, I can really tell a difference with this new center speaker. Very clean and powerful. Similar Products Used: Advent |

Strength:
Crystal clear sound, accurate reproduction of both movies and music, sufficient bass for a center channel
Weakness:
NONE If your looking for a center channel in the 150-200$ price range, then look no further, this is one of the best. I own the CS-245, not the 245i, which is the newer version with redesigned woofers and polk's acclaimed tri-laminate dome tweeter. This speaker is amazing. I only have a three speakers setup, and this thing is the heart and soul of movies. This was a great investment for me. Spacious, clear, distortion free sound. Voices coming through this speaker are breathtaking. It is important to have a good center channel, since it makes up for 50% of the sound in your home theater. It feels like the artist is in your home(no joking). The amazing reproduction of movies, with all the screams, glass shattering, whispers, is incredible. The two 5.25 woofers provide sufficient bass, with nice acoustic sounds during music. But if you're looking for BASS, get a sub. This coupled with a nice speaker pair.(such as JBL's S-38 or Polk's RT-55) will have your ears questioning reality. A great bang for the buck Similar Products Used: NONE |

I'm very happy qith this speaker, I teamed it with a pair of RT400, a pair of M3 II in the back and a PSW650 and it sounds great. |

I bought this after comparing the sound to comparably priced models of center speakers from Energy, Boston Acoustics, B&W, and Klipsch. The CS245 was so much better in clarity, brightness and fullness of sound. Even comparing this model to it's higher priced brother, the CS 300, it did very well. The 300 was a little brighter sounding, but I didn't think the diference in sound was worth the extra $100, roughly a 1/3 more. I am very pleased with this speaker for a moderate price. |

This center is very nice, i made one mistake however... i paired it with Infinity left and right speakers which are much more efficient. this made the CS 245 seem too quiet. but thanks to good old Dolby Digital and or DTS i adjusted the Center channel volume to compensate. now that it sounds right, i can only say good things about the CS 245. for a relitively cheap Center speaker it sounds very nuetral and clean. another goodie from Polk! |
