Strength:

Clear concise vocals from the horn tweeters, larger mid-range than the "quintet" micro center

Weakness:

It's big

I saw the Klipsch Quintet system (4 surround plus a center) for $399 at the military excahnge (department store on base). I liked the sound of their setup (they were running the quintet speakers through a JVC Receiver similar to the one that I own. I did some research (on the internet) and I found that I could save some money and get a nicer Center Channel Speaker also. I purchased the Klipsch Quintet Micro Theater Surrounds (4) for $215 (included shipping). I then found a place to purchase the Klipsch SC-1 for $156 (included shipping). From what I read this would be a nice upgrade from the Quintet Center Speaker. I was a little weary about purchasing these items through the internet but everything came factory sealed brand new and in a timely fashion. They sound great. I run my Bose Lifestyle 5 system through the "line-out" on my receiver. This takes care of needing to purchase another subwoofer. I placed the 2 Bose acoustimass Cube Array Speakers close to the Klipsch Front speakers. I thought that it might be a little "too much" but they help balance the high pitched Klipsch "sound" (because most of the "dialogue" comes through the center channel anyway). The Bose speakers also do not mingle with the "rear" sounds as I was afrid they might. Rear sounds are still very "directional" with no interference. ** The larger Center Channel helps "nullify" any loss in mid-range sound that some people complain about when running the "full" Klipsch "Quintet" Micro Theater system. Thanks and if you want to know the place where I bought the Center Channel just e-mail me a pabny@hotmail.com

Strength:

Clarity, Quality, Klipsch Sound

Weakness:

Yeah Right

What can I say? Klipsch is simply the best speaker period.
This center blows the doors off all other brands. Dialog is clean and natural. My JBL center sounds like its in a bucket of water in comparison. Great for music and home theater.

Took the advice of Pete and went through earthstations.com. $159.00 / no tax / no shipping. Get this center! Before getting this, Surround Sound wasn't very realistic because the dialog would come from the left and right. NOW, damn - I can finally hear the dialog, and it sounds great! Much more realistic, almost like I'm there with my new 35" Sony!!!

Strength:

Horn design makes for perfectly clear dialogue. Very little power needed to get sufficient volume.

Weakness:

Some people may find the sound a little "bright". Actually overpowers the matching mains.

For clarity of dialogue, this speaker can't be beat. The horn design leads to great directionality with a wide sound stage. The price is excellent for a speaker of this caliber.
