Klipsch RC-35 Center Channels

Klipsch RC-35 Center Channels

DESCRIPTION

As the leading supplier to the cinema industry, Klipsch understands that a movie falls apart if every whisper of dialog is not heard. The new Reference Series RC-35 center channel has been engineered to deliver all the detail, subtleties and dynamics required for the ultimate home theater experience. This mind-blowing performer is a refined version of the RC-3 II and incorporates new features to enhance performance and installation flexibility.

The RC-35 delivers detailed, subtle and thrilling sounds through dual 6.5-inch woofers and a 1-inch tweeter that has a light titanium-dome diaphragm and a high-energy, video-shielded Neodymium magnet. The tweeter is coupled to an exclusive Klipsch square Tractrix® Horn that boosts the driver’s already high sensitivity, while minimizing room interactions that cause a loss of sonic detail.

The method to raise and lower it.

I bought it from AcousticSoundDesign.com to test against my current speakers and it performed better than expected. This is a great speaker. The clarity and range were superb. It goes loud effortlessly. I can't wait to get its mates.

Strength:

Extremely clear and lifelike sound and a highly efficient speaker.

Weakness:

You need a subwoofer to take care of the much lower frequencies that are out of this speaker's range (but which center doesn't?)

I upgraded my center speaker from an old kenwood to this center not expecting a great audible improvement. I just bought it to match the sound to my mains (rf-3II). When I first listened to it, I was amazed at the clarity of the speaker and the overall improvement it brought to the sound. I realized just how important the center speaker is seeing as how >70% of the sound comes from the center. You cannot make a mistake in purchasing this particular speaker. It is definitely a great value that can rival the sound of speakers costing much more. The best investment to my home theater yet!!

Strength:

- clean tight accurate sound - very efficient power use - love the copper colorded drivers

Weakness:

- lows a little weak

I went with the entore Klipsch Ref 35 setup for my 5.1 setup, minus the sub (wnet SVS there). I can't say enough about the RC-25. Crisp, tight, clean sound and dialogue is perfect. I compared Mirage, Infinity Alpa, and Polk CSi40. The Polk was a close runner up, but the Alpha Center sounded liek a wet towel was thrown over it. The Mirage was adequate. The Klipsch Center and fronts sold me on this line.

Strength:

Clear, crisp, and no detectable distortion at high volumes.

Weakness:

The screw style elevation foot is poop

I compared about 10 center channels under $400.00 and the RC35 is without question the best available at this price range. Every DVD, all music, and digital cable sound life like, so crisp and clean that helicopters, breaking glass, and gunfire make you turn your head to see if it is real. However, if you don't have a good receiver to power this beauty you might as well have cups with strings for a center channel.

Strength:

Absolute clear as glass sound. Very efficient. Dialogue clear as a bell. Wide coverage angle, and it will absolutely fill a large room. Best center channel out there for the money.

Weakness:

The rear foot used to elevate the speaker to direct the sound down towards an audience is just a big screw. Surely they could come up with a more elegant solution.

I have been sufferring through poor dialogue in DVD's and Movies for a long time. I just didn't know it until I purchased the Klipsch RC35. WOW ! Klipsch's RC 35 Cerametallic drivers and Horn loaded tweeters, matched with Klipsch RB 25 L/R speakers, make the dialogue and center portion of my DVD's absolutely jump off the screen. I expected good things when I made the move to Klipsch, but I had no idea just how pleased I would be. For those of you who havn't figured it out yet, the center channel of a HT system is 70% of what you hear in a movie. If you are on a limited budget, or you just want to insure you "get it right", spend your time, effort and money on your center channel speaker. The Klipsch RC35 is a very efficient speaker: ie a lot of sound output for very little wattage input. And with the Horn loaded tweeter and two Ceramic woofers, the sound is crytal clear at any listening level. My move dialogue went from "so so" to "Oh my gosh !".... I am very pleased with this speaker setup (I'm all Klipsch at the moment, all the way around) and since I live on a budget, I am most pleased with the price performance. Twenty years ago when I heard my first Klipsch system, I loved the sound but absolutely hated the price and size of them. Klipsch has seen the light and taken their great sound and packaged it in an affordable and space friendly form. You will not be unhappy with this speaker.

Strength:

Crisp clear sound, tight base, good looks, great sound. Magnetically attached speaker grills.

Weakness:

I would love it if the 35 series had real wood veneers, but at the same price

I recently bought the whole Reference 35 series, along with a RW-10 sub. The center channel is the most important speaker for HT, and this speaker does a great job handling it. Good tight base, and crisp clear highs make this a great choice in this price range. Looks great, and well built. This speaker blends seamlessly with the rest of the system.

I recently purchased the Klipsch RC-35 after purchasing the Klipsch RF3II tower speakers. Before this recent purchase, I had an older Polk center channel speaker. It was fairly troubling to me because the tower speakers were almost always noticeably louder than my Polk center channel. Also, after reading several articles and reviews, I decided it was time to have all my speakers voice-matched. When I went to the store, I was undecided as to whether I was going to purchase the Klipsch RC-25 or the Klipsch RC-35. The difference in price is about a $100 but the RC-35 undisputably defeats the RC-35. The sound is amazing where the dialogue is perfectly accurate and the bass is correctively responsive. In addition, these speakers perfectly voice-match my Klipsch RF3II tower speakers and I no longer have the daunting problem of having my tower speakers significantly louder than my center (they are mostly balanced). Finally, Klipsch fixed the annoying problem from the RC3II where the grill was very cheap and easy to break. The Klipsch RC-35 has a magnetic grill which is much more sturdier. Nonetheless, I would recommend the Klipsch RC-35 to anyone who would like to compliment any other Klipsch Reference speakers.
