I have been a long time fan of any system that produces a transparent, clean and uncolored sound stage. In other words I feel you should hear the music not the speakers.
I recently was talked into a trial of the infinity product by a younger collegue. I first tried "the pure infinity system" driven by an HK AVR75 and accompanied by a Velodyne CT-150 Sub, then I hooked up using my MacIntosh system ... and finally I used 5 very clean pre-Sony/Superscope Marantz amps. In a word, all I heard was the speaker. Especially the center (CC-1) it stood out like a prostitute in church.

I have heard Boom Boxes that imaged better! The center is there to fill the wall of your music stage. The CC-1 is more like a narrow front site on a fuzzy canon. Even a pair of old JBL-830's imaged better in plain stereo mode than with the CC-1 in prologic, AC-3, or any other mode that utilises the center (As I continued to mix and match in an attempt to experience all the excitement Infinity had engendered in my young friend). My low end JBL HLS Center shames this box. And that is what it sounded like, a box that you could easily pick out with your eyes closed. Well back to the JBL's and my old Klipsh system. Thanks, but no thanks Infinity.

Strength:

compact size, good sound quality for a small system

Weakness:

small sound, doesn't match well to most speakers

This center is a very good center for the money, it offers good sound and a compact size. It matches very well to Infinity US-1's. RS-2's don't match quite as well, and it doesn't sound all that spectacular, but overall this is a satisfying entry level center channel
