Strength:

Powerful, deep bass, sounds clean

Weakness:

kinda large

This speaker was an upgrade from a Paradigm CC70. Wow, is it ever. This is a dominating speaker. So much so I had to lower it on the factory setting on my yamaha receiver b/c it overpowered my bookshelves. Beyond that, it seems true and is extremely believable. Great find at a great price. Also, someone in a previous review mentioned something about plastic in the housing and I have no idea what they are talking about. There is absolutely no plastic. For that matter, there couldn't be a more solid product. This thing is heavy.

Hi, I already reviewed this speaker and I just wanted to say that this center has changed over the last year. It has become better then ever for $300. I also replaced the speaker cables to Monster and that helped too, but this speaker is the best for around this price

Strength:

Solid Bass Smooth highs, wide range, cost beneffit

Weakness:

Hard to find a dealer, It sound better than the 200procinema bookshelf speakers,

I was looking for an good center speaker once every one knows at least 65% of the movie comes from a center speaker, I had others tryed before like Polk audio and Wharfedale and they are very good, but i think the high frequency in Procenter c2 is very smooth, not to bright and the Bass is Very solid and conscistent witch makes the effects and explosions a lot more realistic helping out the front speakers and surrounds, it is a very good buy for the price, and its very wide range and hols a lot of power handling(200w)

Strength:

Looks nice, not too heavy, okay sound for the price.

Weakness:

Not a great high end center speaker.

Good center speaker, not great. Did not match up well with my BP10''s and the and the speakers had a slight ''plastic enclosure'' sound to them perhaps because the enclosure seemed to be plastic. The JBL S Center speaker I tried before had this sound too, but the C2 did sound better. It would be a better value for less than list price.

Strength:

Sound, adjustable rear foot, comes in white and black, and wonderful gold binding post.

This speaker is one of the best center speakers out there for $300! I have mine on top of my entertainment center almost 6 1/2 feet off the floor, and 3 feet from the top of my front left and right speakers. I wanted to put it on the shelf right above my TV but the wife has her nick nacks there and will not let me put it there. Althoght your center speaker should be no higher then two feet from your fronts in hight I find this Def Tech C-2 performing wonderfully! It sounds very natural on female and male voices on both Pro-Logic, D.D., DTS, and 5 channel stereo music listening! It is very detailed yet smooth enough to listen to for hours on end. I got mine in white because I have a white wash oak south west decore. Do you know how hard it is to find front and centers in white that sound good! Any way I paid $240 for mine and it matches my Def Tech Pro-Tower 400s wonderfully! I have nothing bad to say about the C-2 at all. I love the build quality! If you want a great center speaker for $300 or less this is the one to buy!

My system includes,
Toshiba 36" TV
Denon AVR-3300
Sony DVP-S530D (selling)
Sony SL-940 (VCR)
Def Tech Pro-Tower 400s
Def Tech C-2
Def Tech Pro-Monitor 200s
Def Tech Power Field 15TL
All Monster Cables
Terk Pi antenna
I will be buying a Pioneer DV-302D (3 disk DVD player),a Pronto remote and a Sat system because COX CABLE SUCKS, and so does the Denon AVR-3300s remote!!!!!!!

Strength:

True sound with full effect. Very reasonable price.

Weakness:

None, I hope.

This is similar to my previous review on ProMoniter 200. I bought them as a 5-speaker system.

I've always looked for great deals. Thanks to the guys at Barretts store, Brian and Scott, for giving me a great deal on this speaker set. I've got a ProCenter C2 and 4 ProMonitor 200's, all brand new from the factory for less than $1000. At first, they accidentally shipped a set of used ones. I disappointingly returned and waited another week for the new speakers. They fixed the problem with the new offer, which made me happy.

I use the system without a subwoofer because my apartment is not so big. That's also why I go for the 200's, to keep the low range. Bass from these speakers is pretty impressive. Overall sound is supurbly full and clean. I wish I could turn it all the way up, but my neighbors would be mad.

If you're looking for a greatly reliable product at this price, look no further.

Strength:

Crispy, clear dialogues

Weakness:

Grill could not be removed. I tried to pull this out to the speaker, still could not take it out. Scared if it would break

First, I have to thank the customers who had given a rare reviews and rating on Deftech speakers. After months of research, I made my mind to buy this speaker. I walked into my dealer’s showroom (Absolute Sound) on a Saturday and asked the professional about this speaker. I spent about hours in listening to the same music in few other speakers and then decided to buy this one. The speakers I evaluated or considered are B&W, Paradigm, Boston Acoustics, Energy’s & Deftech. IMHO, I would give full credit to Paradigm than Deftech because for the same price what I pay for Deftech, you get a better sound & quality but I did not choose paradigm because the looks was traditional and was a typical box. Trust me! they sounded great than any other speakers. I decided to buy Deftech-Promoniter 100 because they sounded almost close to Paradigm(don’t know the model exactly), and Deftech had great looks. B&W had problems with the grille poping out frequently and was expensive, Boston Acoustics had more of base than to hear a clear dialogue, but I would rate this close to Deftech. Energy’s were boxy and was not as clear as the others. Before going to the dealer, I checked about the speakers in their website, asked for specifications, opinions and some information on the speakers, those information helped me to decide on Pro-moniter 100.

Overall, this speaker sounds great. I am able to hear the tiny piece of nail dropping on the floor clearly. The woofer sounds great, the cross over is excellent. These speakers are the best for home theatre, listening to music and ideal for a home or an apartment. If you can crank to the highest volume possible, these speakers never give-up, You can create an earthquake if required. I would higly recommend to have a listening experience of this speaker with your local dealer and then decide.

My configuration
Front & Rear speakers – ProMoniter 100 (4 speakers)
Center Speaker – Deftech ProMoniter C2 (This one is excellent! Than Promoniter center)
Woofer – Deftech Prosub 100TL
TV- SONY XBR 32
A/V receiver – YAMAHA RXV 800
DVD Player 1-Toshiba 1600 DVD player
DVD Player 2 – SMC DVD player (for VCD/All zone DVD’s)
VCR – SONY VCR
CD Player – Nakamachi - MB8
Casette player – Technics HX Pro dual tape deck
Satellite – Direct TV (Hughes Digital satellite receiver)
Headphones – Beyerdynamic DT531
Interconnecting cables are Monster & Recoton cables (most of the good cables and wires are Oxygen free). Speaker wires are recommended by the local dealer.
