Strength:

Clear dialogue, loud clear special effects

Weakness:

Isn't a good match for most stereo speakers when the same sounds shift between the front speakers

This is a very loud speaker that will make good use of most receivers. I would say that it is a good speaker for its price, because it has a loder sound and had a wider frequency range than simmilarly priced speakers. I would reccomend this to someone who already has nice stereo speakers, and wants to upgrade to surround sound without breaking the bank.

Bass response, sound staging

I am most impressed with Cerwin Vega products. Although I'd like to purchase high end speakers, budget restrictions had me purchase within my price range. For $450 CDN I purchased the LS6C and a pair of LS8's (for surrounds in the future, but mains for now). After a week of break in I find these speakers are perfect for anyone who is looking to put together a home theater with out breaking the bank. They are clear and responsive. I have them running off a Sony 935 receiver which is rated for 110 Watts (probably more like 60 clean if that) which might not make them "shine" but they do rock. I have rewatched all my DVD's and am hearing sounds that were not there before. I would, with out a doubt, recommend this centre (Canadian spelling) to anyone on any budget. I blew away the Nuance Grand series, Infinity IL25CMPL, POLK CS245I, Bose VCS-10 and a number of other centres I reviewed over the course of 5 months.

Strength:

Great vocals, bass if you need it.

Weakness:

None really

I really like this center. I realize not a lot of audiophiles are big vega fans but IMHO this is a great center. This is my first HT and out of all my components this will probably be the only one that I keep. I think most people just getting into HT don't realize how much your center channel is really used, it's probably the most important speaker out of the bunch, and bigger IS better, I'm really gald I went with this one. The LS-6C has great bass for a center and would be a definite asset to a receiver with 5 channel stereo. Very clear vocals and just sounds nice. I paid $260 canadian.
