Strength:

Great center channel, works well with my 600 S2's

Weakness:

Grouchy! Requires high current amps, lots of break in time, and good support items such as stands and cables. Not really a weakness, but possibly to some.

The CC6 S2 not unlike any other B&W is a grouchy beast. Many people give this speaker poor reviews based on initial performance out of the box. You can't do that. This speaker requires at least 40 hrs to fully bloom. Up to that it will sound boomy and flat. I almost lost my patience with it myself. It also requires ample amounts of power. I still wasn't really happy with it so I purchased a Lovan stand for it. Much improved sound. Lastly I purchased a quality cable for it, an 8' Straight Wire Octave cable. Once again, I noticed a vast improvement in clarity and detail; the vocals were also no longer flat. Be patient with this unit, give it plenty of power and don't set it flat on top of your TV. Purchase a quality cable for it as well. It will reward you for it. The 600 S2 series are the same way, why would the center channel be any different?

Weakness:

overpriced, underbuilt, overrated

The worst possible selection anyone could make for a center speaker, poor driver contruction, poor efficiency, and too much reputation on the B&W name. sounded boomy and was really poor for music

Strength:

Strong and punchy

Weakness:

Takes a bit of time to reach optimum performance

This is a great center channel speaker that I picked from London. Very strong and punchy mid range which is an absolute essential for a good home theater.

I love the CC6 S2 as well as my 602 S2s. Great speaker and sounds great with my Denon AVR-2802. If you are considering it, buy it.

Strength:

Price, soundstage, mids Good contruction "Musicality" for DVD-A or SACD

Weakness:

Break in time (?) If you''re picky, kevlar colour does not match the new series 3 (like that really matters!)

This centre channel is an exceptional value (if you can still find one because the B&W 600 series 3 are now out). It loves to be played with lots of volume, especially if you''re playing music through it. I am guessing that you might need a descent amp to run these juding some of the other negative comments on this site for this speaker. I am using an NAD 760. It has a wide and open soundstage and a surprising amount of snappy bass punch for a centre channel (not subwoofer levels of course). The treble is detailed and clear. This speaker is good enough that it has showed me that I HAD to upgrade my old Infinity Reference speakers (good speakers in their day)that I used for fronts. The speaker does need to be broken in, due to the kevlar drivers, the soundstage on mine did not open up until after about 40 hours. Once it did, it sounded great. Of course there are better and far more expensive centre channels out there, but dollar for dollar I consider this speaker to be an exceptional value and almost impossible to beat for the sound at this price.

Strength:

Sounds like the real thing! Doesn`t sound thin or "boxy" when played on a high volume. Sturdy buildt. Nice rubber feets which make sure it doesnt glide on the top of the tv. Solid bi- wiring binding posts for speaker cable. Excellent value for money!!!

Weakness:

Hmmm.....???.....None??

This center speaker blends in perfect with the rest of my BW set- up. It reproduces the voices in the movies in a convincing way. It has absolutely no problem with panning effects from one mainspeaker to the other without sounding fake or to directional. Doesn`t sound thin or stressed when played on a high volume. It thrives on hard hitting sci- fi movies!! I have had this center for over a year now, and have absolutely no complaints about it!!

Strength:

Good solid product, good sound, good build. Also good looking especially when complimented by more B&W speakers!! Cheap now..

Weakness:

None.

I bought the cc6 s2 to replace a mordaunt-short cheapie back in `99 and was instantly happy with it. I paid £200. After the break in period this speaker really started to shine. great tweeter, great bass and dialogue is fine if it`s set up well, i don`t understand the negative comments. The speaker blends in beautifully with the other b&w`s i`m using. I use the cc6 s2 bi-wired, dm602 s2 front speakers, eltax ht2 bipolar rears (soon to be replaced with b&w`s), paradigm 100 watt active sub. amplification is sony str-db940, cables are cabletalk 3.1 I`m on a constant upgrade path so i can`t guarantee this centre will survive in my system for much longer but for the years i`ve used it for it`s been excellent, i`m certainly not in a desperate need to upgrade from this though. I think it`s the best centre channel for the price.

Strength:

Great Sound for the price that I paid for it. I would have paid full price for it, but was blessed to get it at the price mentioned.

Weakness:

None.

Bought used at a local audio shop. This speaker has the detail for the price I paid. It cost the same as my Klipsch KV-3 I bought back in 1995 from Ultimate Electronics. The sensitivity is not as high as the KV-3, only 88db compared to the 94db Klipsch puts out, but I definitely would sacrifice volume for the detail you get with this speaker. Also since it is used, it is broken in, and compared to a new box one they had in the demo room, this one sounded better. Wow, could that be? Well I was blessed because this was in excellent shape, and the price could not be beat. I am selling both Klipsch center channels that I have, and will get either the LCR60 S3 or the LCR600 S3 to compliment the fronts.

Strength:

Clear, crisp dialog - voice matches my other B&W speakers well

Weakness:

Not as sensitive as my other B&W speakers

I bought this unit to complement my B&W P5 fronts and 601-S2 rear speakers - It looks nice and causes no problems with the TV it sits on. My only minor gripe is that I must turn up the output to the center channel by 3 db to match the output of my other B&W speakers - This speaker is just not as sensitive (89 db)as other B&W speakers - most of which are over 90 db. Voice matching of the other B&W speakers is very good - all 5 give a good and accurate presentation of the sound experience when watching a DVD. I'm going to add a subwoofer to the system soon.

Strength:

affordable for the home theatre buff. Sonics reasonable.Dialogue sounds normal, not helped,or sugar coated. Just like the best in B & Ws'. If you want excitement look somewhere else. If you want accuracy, this is one of the better honest buys you can make. Build quality is commensurate for the price.

Weakness:

No sizzle bam or bang that allot folks might want. Maybe a bit much for the average buff at $350.00 it is a little expensive.

I always have a great time with my home theatre, and I am looking forward for a more involving dialogue with the CC6. Sure the LRC is bigger and better, but are you ready to pay extra? I wasn't. Running off my H.K. AVR-80 mk2,the voices are bought out that my Clements only blurs. Watching "Kiss the Girls" with Morgan Freeman, one of my favorites for his voice. Sure positive, with timbre. My clements just couldn't do it like this. I am sure there are many more center channels more expensive and perhaps better than this CC6 but I don't see myself looking at them anytime soon. So for now,the CC6 will fit the bill just fine.
