To Armando, don't worry to much about spare parts and repairs with Polks, I had some problems with my RT 10s, the woofers just died during a party, and I got them fix in no time by the store I bought them from. If the store is not an option, you can write an e-mail to the Polk guys and you'll be surprised how fast they will respond to give you some options.
I'm very happy with Polk speakers, and the service from Polk was remarcable.

I knew about the Polks since I was 21, studying Law at the University, and enjoying my free time reading Stereo Review.

Fifteen years later, I paid more than $800 to get a pair of RT-10s (purchasing them from Crutchfield by catalog), and including the air freight + Custom Duties to bring them to Peru. It was a damned lot of money, but even I haven't heard a Polk before, every time I crank my A/V system on, I feel it was a justified expense!

These speakers sound GREAT! I have used them first connected to a Kenwood KA-55 integrated amp (45 W/ch), and they sounded like Heaven to my ears. Then I bought a Pioneer SX-303R Receiver (100 W/Ch), and even when this device was a a real piece of scrap, the Polks sounded much better than before!
Now I have it connected to an very simple A/V system whose heart is a Kenwood VR-6090 A/V Receiver (don't lose your heads [and time] looking on Crutchfield's catalog or Kenwood's website, it's a model sold only in Latin America), plus a Technics SH-GE90 digital audio equalizer, Sony 5-CD changer, Sony single deck with Dolby B/C/S, Aiwa single deck with Dolby B/C for dubbing (the cheapest one), Sony Hi-Fi VHS (4 years old, it's still great), and Panasonic 27" Tv set.

Even when I have to deal with a lot of remotes every time I set on my A?v system (it really drives me crazy), the Polks do a pretty good job on ANY AUDIO/VIDEO source... Tapes, CDs, FM Radio, VHS movies, even Monaural TV broadcasts sound much better than expected!!!!

The Polks are very expensive, but when you buy them -and take them to listen at your own place, be sure you're putting your bucks on something that for its quality and sound, could be priced more than five times its real retail price!

Weak point, however: No service in Latin America. If I have any problem, I'd be lost! Anyway I take a pretty good care of my Polks -Remember that extreme volume levels, could damage any kind of speakers... and EVEN YOUR OWN EARS!!!!

Wow. I recieved these speakers as a gift and they have blown me away.I've never owned a pair of Polk Speakers before and have to say I'm very impressed. The two-way design was a bit daunting at first (Will this really sound ok?), but all I had to do was wire them up.

These speakers are excellent. The highs are clean and undistorted. The midrange is pleasant, and tends to handle vocals and instruments well. The bass gets way down there, and is very tight and clean the whole way. No cheapie construction here!

I picked these up on clearance for 600 $$/pair. They are more than worth it.

I highly suggest giving these a listen. They are easy to drive, very efficient, look and sound spectacular, and beat just about anything in their price range. If you can still find a pair out there, you might want to pick it up.

Great sound, great quality, amazing price. 5 stars.

I buy this unit because I heard it from my local store. It's sound very nice with clean thigh bass and also clean mid and highs. Before I buy this unit, i used Jamo classic 8. Boy that is very dissaponited me. But now i'm very happy with my RT 10. I love it.

Two thumbs up for a speaker that beats all in it's price range. Deep Bass and a sound that makes it sound like it belongs in a much higher price range. Polk did it's homework when it made this speaker!

Weakness:

could use some more detail and better soundstage, but at this price not bad

well, i bought these speakers when i was 16. i am 23 now and i am still very happy with them. i want to upgrade to paradigm reference or something similar, but for the money these speakers have been great. if you can pick up a pair for less than $400 you are getting a great deal. i will probably never sell these because i can always use them for home theater when i upgrade my music system.

In a word, Awesome!

Here's the story: I was a BOSE man. I've always seen them. They were always expensive, and before I got serious about my Home Audio/Video, I had had no idea that "Price Paid" didn't translate into "High Quality". But, having never heard another type of good speaker, and having these speakers crammed down my throught at the Air Force's Base Exchange (BX), I purchased a pair of Bose 201s. I was ignorantly delighted.

Then one day I strolled into a local Campos. It just so happened that on this day I was in the market for some beefier speakers and was looking at the 501s (why?, I don't know). As I was listening to them, I had seen the Polk Audio RT-10's sitting next to the BOSE speakers. I was curious and pressed the button to listen to them. At that moment, I experienced somehting that I don't get to experience very much: pure joy! My ears were listening to audio in a way that it was never aware it could. My mind was helplessly imagining every note, instrument, and voice. I was sold!

Through several years of playing around and reconfiguring, I picked up a second set of RT-10s and assembled this (KICK ASS!) system:

1 Yamaha DSP-A2 (*****!)(100 watts per channel, Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, over 30 DSPs, awesome sound and power!)

4 Polk Audio Front speakers (both A and B drivin at the same time)

1 Klipsch Center

2 Klipsch KSB 1.1 Front Effect Speakers (7channel surround sound processor)

2 JBL Rears (actually replaced my BOSE 2.2s and sound better)

1 Mission 100 Watt SUB (Except for one design flaw, which was easily fixable, awesome!)

1 Toshiba SD-9000 (*****!) (My God the COLORS and detail!)

1 Sony 34in Multi-system Trinitron TV (*****!)

1 Technics 110+1 CD player w/Digital (and DTS) out (****1/2!)

1 Panasonic 6-Head VCR (okay [it's a VCR, what do you expect?])

And a Sega Dreamcast (I had the money, I was bored, and, if all the games are like Soul Caliber, Ready to Rumble, and NFL 2000, one of the best entertainment investments I've mave to date.)

Now, as a result, I am a POLK Man (as well as a DIE HARD Yamaha Man!).

I used my polk's to add on to the stereo that i am putting at my computer. They sound good when you turn them up loud but the bass becomes distorted if used too loudly.I replaced two KLH speakers and there was a very noticable difference.
