I don't believe it! A speaker that can actually compete with NHT at a given price point! Bravo Paradigm! I tested the Minimonitor against the NHT Super One and the B&W 302, 601, and 602 for inexpensive front speakers for a Home Theater system. On music, the ultimate test of a speaker, the NHT was the best for me. It had superb highs and mids and very decent bass. The Paradigm wasn't far behind, and it had lower bass, but it didn't quite have the pinpoint accuracy of highs and mids that the NHT had. The B&Ws came in third, in order of price. On HT, the 602 was the best, followed by the Minimonitor, followed by the Super One, followed by the 601 and 302. The Minimonitor was every bit as good as the 602, except that it didn't have the bass, thus making the 602 better for HT. However, being that the Minimonitor was $200 less, and better for music anyway, I was astounded! Therfore, I concluded that, "bang for the buck" with HT went to Paradigm. I'll probably get Minimonitor fronts, Titan rears, and CC350 center with a PS1200 sub. All this for a list price of less than $1500! I will go with Paradigm, not only for the minimonitor, but because their center is better than the B&W CC6 and NHT doesn't have a voice-matched center for Super Ones, and I don't want a horizontal one on top of my TV. In conclusion, the Super Ones are better for music, but the Paradigms are better for HT and have better bass. These Minimonitors are better for music than the highly acclaimed B&W 602 for $550! |

Am I a happy camper? Don't ask! I am in love with these mini-monitors. And at a cost of $275 they have no rival. I listened to the SuperOnes and at a cost of $350 they really didn't sound all that super in comparison to the MiniM's. The $ale$man $ugge$ted a pair of PSB's which sounded so bright that thirty seconds was all I could stand to listen to them. And not only do I have a terrific pair of speakers but now every one of my cd's is like listening to totally new versions. The sound is so open and clear with such precise imaging. The speakers appear to disappear.I have noticed quite a few posting that refer to the MiniM's as bookshelf speakers. They are not! They need to be at least a foot from the wall and preferably on Premier Stands to achieve the clarity and openness these speakers can deliver. ENJOY YOURS! I'M LOVING MINE!! |

When I first got these speakers, I was impressed by how much bass they put out -- I wasn't expecting that much from such a small speaker. I was also impressed by the warm, full sound of these speakers. |

I got a pair for the fronts of my HT system. Detailed and spacious soundstage. Great for those that like rock music. Performs ably on classical but probably more suited to rock. A very good speaker. |

hello, i do not have a review for this product. however, i am considering getting a complete set of paradigms for my system. i listen to 60/40 music vs. HT and am running a SONY STRDE 825 receiver with a SONY DVP-S600 dvd / cd player. there are no local dealers around me in this province. i understand that they are not available through mail order, but some one on these forums said they got them direct from the manufacturer. does anyone know where i can contact paradigm for direct order?? am considering the mini monitors, with the CC350, titans for rears... but what subwoofer should i be using? or do i even need one, considering the reviews here for the mini mon... please advise here or by email. pmcgowan@hotmail.com. thank you for your consideration, and others, sorry for the intrusion. paul.5 stars so as not to interfere with the average, and a big gi5 to canadian speaker manufacturers!!! |

I've started a new category for this speaker--it deserves its own so as not to be confused with the Mini MkIII (older model?). Compared this speaker against the Energy XL-16 and thought it had the clarity of the Energy with better bass. I haven't bought new speakers in over 10 years for my home. I thought my old floor speakers sounded pretty good until I heard these. I can't believe such a rich sound can come out of these tiny speakers and fill an entire room (although a relatively small room.) I pretty much spent the whole day after I got these speakers listening to one CD after another and one DVD after another just to hear the remarkable difference in quality from my old speakers. There are some CDs that only a truly good pair of speakers can do justice to, and these are those speakers. You can play these speakers at very low volumes and still hear the richness of an acoustic guitar. I can't imagine wanting more out of a bookshelf speaker that costs twice as much. By the way, these are Canadian-made speakers and you can get some great deals from Canadian dealers through mail-order. |

I've owned a pair for several months now, and can say that these are great speakers for the money. Highs are crisp (sometimes sibilant though), great lows, and good midrange (sometimes overemphasized). Speakers are currently hooked up to a solid state integrated, but will eventually link them up to a tube pre and amp. I am confident that there will be sonic improvement, but I'll just have to wait and see... |

I spent a long time listening to Paradigm speakers at a local Audiophile store. After about 2 1/2 hours of listening I decided on the Mini-Monitors over the Monitor 5's. The Mini-Monitors give a wonderful, rich sound and even have quite a bit of bass for a speaker this size. The imaging for this speaker was phenomenal. I gave them a thorough test with Classical, Movie Soundtracks and Musicals (Last of the Mohicans, The Mission, Best of John Williams, Les Miserable), Easy-Listening (Sara McLachlan, U2), and Hard Rock (King's X). Well, these little speakers survived the test. For deeper bass, couple these with a subwoofer like the PS-1000 or PS-1200 and a center like the CC-350 and you'll be set.I send out my thanks to the guys at Audible Images in Riverside, CA. Great store, great people, great service, great prices. |

I just purchased a set of Mini Monitors after owning a CC-150 center channel for sometime. I replaced a pair of Rogers Sound Labs (anyone remember this company?) CG-6 bookshelf speakers. I used to think the CG-6's had good tight bass, but these MM's are unreal. |
