Strength:

amazing clarity at all levels

Weakness:

none as of yet

I have been shopping awhile for a pair of speakers for my bedroom i listened to polf rt25's(sounded good but didn't seem to handle too much power)energy bookshelf's(i forget the model but they sounded flat)and bose 201(handled decent amount of power but also sounded alittle flat).I saw these Jbl's at bestbuy and tried them out in their speaker showroom they sounded great but i kept looking because i felt they were too big. After all my shopping i kept coming back to the Jbl's so i purchased them and after setting them up with monster cable and to my older Onkyo stereo reciever (80 watts per channel)the Jbl's did everything i excpected and then some. i am amazed at how clear everything sounds and the bass is great for my bedroom. I couldn't be happier, they put my older cerwin vega at-8's to shame.

Strength:

Exceptional classic JBL midrange, clear and easy to drive.

Weakness:

So far none detected....

I've been buying or testing various speakers for a year when someone suggested the N26. Got these for 151 online and when they got in, I set up an A B test with Mnitor Audio 3i. These are two totally different speakers. The Monitor Audios are laid back and sounded great when pushed to loud. The JBL N26 drive much easier, amking them louder at the same volume but watch out when you push them. They really get in your face with that classic JBL midrange and high end strength. Exception clarity and imaging. Needless to say the 3i came down and the N26 are my new rears. They match pretty well with the JBL L100's that I use as mains. I recommend these to anyone.......

Weakness:

None really, unless you don't like the shape (personally I think they look pretty good)

These speakers blow away my Bose speakers. I know I might not be an audio expert when it comes to Bose speakers and I am not by any means a Bose Basher, since I did buy there speakers, but using these as the rears and the S38 in the front with the S-Centre and the PB12, rocks my house compared to the Bose. Bose I guess is good for low base stuff, but if you want a full movie experience you can't go wrong with these behind you.

Strength:

Very good clarity. Mids & Highs are very clear.

Weakness:

NONE

I am presently using these as my front speakers in my H-T set-up. As I stated above these speakers have very good mids and highs. The bass is also very good for a speaker this size. This speaker also has excellent binding posts for the connections. I would highly recommend these speakers for either your front or rears. They do tend to be a little large for rear applications, especially if you want to wall mount them. I would rate these speakers a five in both categories. Of all the under $500.00 a pair bookselfs I auditioned, these were the best by far.

Strength:

Great sound and clarity. Excellent Mid range. Price.

Weakness:

None as of yet.

Overall, these speakers are perfect for my situation. They were bought as a gift for my wife, who recently blew out her old bookshelf (design acoustics) speakers that she had for many years. I, myself own a pair of JBL Control Monitor 4312C that are incredible, even after having them for 5+ years. I needed a bookshelf speaker that was compact but did not lack good sound and exceptional clarity. That is why I looked into the JBL N26. These speakers look great and when I hooked them up I was impressed at the sound that was coming from a bookshelf speaker. Some reviews I have read say that they lack base, well they are only bookshelf speakers. If you want base, you should look into buying a larger pair of JBL's. In closing, I am very pleased with my purchse, the price was great and the sound and clarity are very pleasing to the ear. I highly recommend these and most other JBL speakers.

Strength:

Beatiful, accurate sound reproduction. Great price.

Weakness:

cheap cabinet??

These are superb. I spent a great deal of time shopping around for high quality bookshelf speakers in the $200-400 range. I took numerous sets of speakers to my home to comparison test them and the JBL's had the edge all the way down the line. I was not so concerned with bass since I have a good subwoofer. I spent most of my time seeing how well they reproduced voices and midranges. These had the perfect tonal qualities that I was looking for and IChave been quite pleased thus far. My only concern is with the cabinet. These are substantially lighter than many of the other bookshelf speaker that I tried. Ihave had no problems, but was wondering if it might become a factor later down the line. I got these at Crutchfield (because of their amazing service) for $210 delivered. I have seen them for as low as $140 for the pair. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a great value for some great speakers.

Strength:

Accurate tonal quality.

Weakness:

Possible cheap build quality (had to replace on of the speakers after the first day)

I bought a pair of these on sale for $180 dollars from Best Buy. I think after listening extensively to them that speaker technology has really increased to the point that a very accurate sounding pair of bookshelf speakers can be bought at low cost. They are definitely more accurate in tonal quality than the NHT's, Tannoy's, or even the model that they replace, the HLS610's, all of which I own and have done side by side comparisons with. The midrange is excellent, the highs are extended, and the bass is tight. I think this is mainly due to the superior drivers used in them and the cost effective plastic enclosures they use. One of the speakers I originally bought had something rattling around in it, and after it started making a buzzing sound during heavy bass, I went back to Best Buy to exchange it. The first one they took out of the box also had someting rattling in it! The other one seemed OK so I
took it home and have not had any problems since. I would
definitely reccomend these speakers.

Price, midrange, size, clarity

Weakness:

finish, bass

Very nice speaker. paid only 135,00. I use it as my surround speaker. I made an AB comparision with my mains, JBL S26. the s26 has substantially more bass than the n26, but the n26 mids seems more up front. the treble is very high in the n26, making me cut it a little bit from the s26 settings. Overall, this speaker fitted very well as surround
