This review is for the M3ti's. Given the price point of these speakers- what they do is simply fantastic. I sold these speakers to "upgrade" which now I have a pair of monitor speakers that retailed for over $1000. While my new speakers have an excellent soundstage and superior imaging, I find myself missing the Axiom's - especially their midrange. It was so full and balanced. I was a fan of the titanium tweeter. I would certainly not describe it as being bright - I was able to listen for hours without fatigue (pairing components with the speakers could be a problem for some people here, being as accurate as the Axioms are..) Also I do not describe myself as a person who likes "bright" speakers. The fact that I could change components upstream (amp,preamp, or cabling) and hear an immediate difference through the Axioms is a testament to their neutrality and sound quality. I once took the driver out of one of the speakers, inside the cabinet was dead silent - no standing waves (or very few) and I noticed a pressure difference inside the cabinet, it kinda freaked me out. Apparently this is how these speakers with a 6.5" driver that rolls off at 50hz are able to achieve such a great midrange.

I enjoy my new speakers but the Axioms did more for me - more often would I get chills or really feel the music. Placement is huge with these , as anyone who knows speakers can tell you, especially most rear ported bookshelf speakers. I will likely buy another pair of Axiom M3s because they brought a smile to my face. (Next time in a fancy finish though.)

Are there better speakers out there? Yes. However, at this price point... Are these one of the best values you'll find for speakers that can handle anything you throw at them including music and movies? Yes- I give them 5 stars on both accounts, they do an excellent job reproducing sound across the spectrum and their value is without question.

So when the music stops and all is almost said and done, where do the Axiom’s land? Let me say this, I for some reason thought these were $600 speakers. When I checked the price again I was blown away to find out they were $348, especially when considering their performance. The M3v3 do most of what a great speaker should. They present a large and open image, linear reproduction of sound, offer a good amount of detail, and be as transparent as the speaker can be. They are certainly worth auditioning. Especially if you are looking for speakers that will bring spring time to your winter.
For my personal taste I enjoyed the pairing of the M3v3 with the warmer Van Alstine OmegaStar250EX solid state amplifier. I found it provide slightly more body to the low end while rolling off some of the air in the high end. But really the point is that for $348 you can get a speaker that is transparent enough to let you tweak the sound till your ears are satisfied. And that is a real achievement.
For your time and money I’d say the Axiom M3v3 speakers are very much worth auditioning, and certainly worth purchasing if they do it for you.

I owned the M3V3 speakers for almost a year. Initially I thought they sounded ok and had good bass. Then I was exposed to better audio for less money with Polk bookshelf speakers. Polk are much more tonally neutral and can play louder without breaking up. The Axioms are built very cheaply too. Open them up and you find a hollow box with very cheap components. I sold my Axioms on Ebay for a loss and upgraded to an entire Polk RTI system and much happier now.
