Strength:

Easy to use menu
Programmable EQ
plays Atrac3, atrac3plus and mp3 files
long battery life between charges
case doesnt get scratches and swirl marks like ipods
Sonic Stage software is intuitive and easy to use

Weakness:

paper thin bass reproduction (but an ipod is no better)
screen not as bright as ipod
only plays music files

This little player is one of my best friends. It gets a consistent 10-15 hours of playback time. The only downside is that the music quality is a little thin, a bass freak like myself really misses the depth. If you can get past the paper thin bass, this player is great. I used an Ipod for a while and it had a bass boost, yeah right. The bass quality on the ipod was no better at all, it just sounded crappy and distorted. Plus, itunes is way more confusing than Sonicstage, the software for Sony players. I returned my ipod and kept my tried and true sony, theres just no beating it. By the way, this site is wrong, the price is no where near 400 dollars. Ive seen them in stores for 200 even. A great deal for 20 gigs of storage. Unless you plan on playing movies on a mp3 player, dont follow the hype and get an ipod. Get a Sony. Its more user friendly and the price per gig cant be beat.
