Strength:

The remote is great with six buttons, long playback, antiskip.

Weakness:

No line out, no rechargable batteries.

I thought this discman offered alot for its price, as it came with a remote, antishock and long playback. The sound quality was good, and the bass was reasonable with the suppplied earphones.

Strength:

As a CD player - none. If you don't care about sound quality....then maybe anti-shock is good for you.

Weakness:

Everthing...everywhere.

I have my excellent good old SL-S165 Panasonic cd player. This is a high quality sound player with an excellent transport (The best error protection I had ever!). This excellent product is driven by a small headphone DIY amp (see www.headwize.com for excellent DIY projects) and I'm using my fair sennheiser HD200. All this setup is my mini HiFi @ work. Since it's an aging product (produced around 1995) I wanted to upgrade to catch up with the latest DAC and cd players - My only goal is highest sound quality don't care about any silly gadgets nor anti-skip or whatever. Boy I was WRONG! this is the lamest sound I ever heard! so much noise!! You can't even disable the anti-shock which degrades the CD quality to 64Kbps MP3!!!. Bottom line...today you won't find high-end HiFi portable cd players...what a shame! If you can find a good old cd player ...stick to it!

Strength:

With my set-up i''m wondering if i really need to do anything else but to please my ears i will. But that said it will be with the same player

Weakness:

Your kidding

This player has excellent bass, same in mid''s and high''s. Jazz, classical, and rock sound good. Upright bass in Appalachia Waltz,Yo-yo Ma,Mark O''Conner, and Edgar Meyer was just right. Woke me up once. Must say I have Grado SR-60 headphones, like what they do over the stock phones. Will get headphone amp soon and upgrade phones but not the player. I don''t jog but have been a clutz and dropped it 3 times and it comes right back so that''s no biggy.
