Strength:

Go loud without distortion, crisp and clear, plenty of serious bass, price.

Weakness:

The static noise while adjusting volume knob.

These speakers absolutely rock, especially for the price. The subwoofer may be on the small side (compared to home theater subs) but it is mighty. They've got tons of balls and thus go very loud. The bass can get kind of boomy on some bass heavy music but not as much with games and movies. I have almost never used the headphone jack so I can't comment much on that. The speakers do have one minor problem though and that's when I adjust the volume by turning the knob, I get a little static/noise but only while moving the knob. Once the volume is adjusted it stops. MY friends love them and always comment on how rad they are. I've got tons of music ripped to my PC so these things are great because they've basically turned my PC into a stereo. They really can fill the whole main floor of my house with music. I love them.

Strength:

Quality sound

Weakness:

Lack of convenient power switch....Bass is over powering unless turned way down on control pod.

I purchased these to have music on my screened in patio. I have yet to turn them up because I find no reason to. I use my Nano or my portable CD player for a source. I think this setup sounds way better than any compact all-in-one shelf stereo on the market! If I didn't already have about $400 in equipment in my bedroom I would be quite pleased to have this instead. Recommend these speakers and a cheap portable CD player to anyone looking for a cheap, great sounding setup.

Strength:

Whoa, they're loud. Deep thumpy bass, especially for home theater. Connect a 2nd sound source and headphones to the satellite on your desk.

Weakness:

Too bright for truly exceptional music reproduction. Bass amp is way overpowered. Distorts with low bass material like hip-hop or dance music. Big and heavy (25 lbs.). No convenient off switch. If you get 'em cheap, they're likely gray-market with no warranty.

These multimedia speakers come with a subwoofer that has more power than my NHT 10" sub does. That said, I had to turn the sub volume almost off to balance the satellites. There are goods and bads to this system. It distorts on deep bass material, even at low volume, on songs such as Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. On the other hand, with more melodic content such as Dire Straits, you can tell that the tweeters are overpowering the mids and you lose balance on the high notes. Movie trailers from Apple.com do produce better full-range response, with appropriate "thumps" from the sub. The system can get real loud very fast, like 1/4 turn of the volume knob, so beware if you have sleeping roommates or a sensitive landlord. Comes with a ton of wires which would be hard to shorten, and the rear clips are, indeed, not tight. The extra input for a second line-level audio source is convenient, so you can connect an external radio and your computer at the same time. Likewise an on-the-desk headphone jack is convenient. No off switch on the sats means the set will likely be on all the time, burning watts. But for under $50 they do sound much better than almost any other 2.1 multimedia speakers I've heard, though the Cambridge Soundworks ($79) are more pleasingly balanced with less bass.

Strength:

Power, full sound, clarity, adjustable gain for the bass

Weakness:

over powered bass means you need the adjustable gain

the power and clarity is amazing for 2.1 computer speakers. the highs never get harsh even at very high volumes and the bass is always tight and clean I have never heard it clip, However the bass over-powers the mid and high tones especially at higher volumes, luckily there is a bass gain adjustment which I keep nearly all of the way down and still get plenty of bass with all kinds of music

Strength:

Excelent bass. Good length on satelite speaker wire. Headphone jack and own volume/bass control. VALUE!

Weakness:

For this price? None.

This has got to be the strongest 2:1 system I have ever owned. I have tried numerous Creatives around this price and blew them all with very little volume. If you are looking for 2:1s for around this price, it is the only way to go.

Strength:

Build quality solid except for connectors. Nice looking. Bass gets loud.

Weakness:

VERY boomy bass, poor mids. Speaker connectors are poor quality.

Ordered these based on excellent reviews; VERY disappointed. They sound like they are in a closet. The mids are SO hollow sounding and forget crisp highs. I tried moving the speakers to various locations, different source inputs, ...forget it. I have honestly had $50 speakers sound far better. The bass is beyond muddy. Reviewers that stated the bass is tight must be smoking something because no matter where I placed the sub it was horrible. (Note: location did help some - keep the sub off the ground and away from corners. Forget putting it under your desk as Klipsch suggests.) Finally as mentioned by other reviewers, the speakers connectors don't keep a connection. Simply wiggling them causes the speakers to cut in and out. If you are a gamer who wants big boomy bass (the sub does get loud) you might like these. If you are looking for speakers for low to mid volume music listening of jazz, pop vocal, classical, acoustic, and the like - save your money. Not only can you do better but I doubt you could do worse. BTW - speaker angle IS adjustable, simply bend arch of metal legs. Fairly easy to do.

Strength:

Can play at loud volume levels without distortion.

Weakness:

Need power switch on the Speakers. Have to reach down and around sub to turn off and on.

Bought these for my son to use with his Ipod in his bedroom. These are incredibly accurate for a $50(Retail 149) pair of speakers. The bass is great and they can play extremely loud and clear.

Similar Products Used:

Compared these to the new Bose computer speakers. The tiny silver square pods with the silver sub. The Bose sounded good but could not play at a very high volume level. They also wanted $249 for the setup. That is a joke. Buy the Klipsh and you will be very happy.
