I bought my Kenwood KXW8060 brand new, in 1993, at Circuit City. If memory serves, I believe the deck cost $460.00 new. It has performed flawlessly for 23 years, and has fantastic sound quality! This unit really has all the bells and whistles, as well. I also own a very reliable KXW894 from 1994, and it has the same quality mechanisms under the hood, but was scaled back a little-into a more simplistic deck. But I digress; The quality of the 8060 is such, that with a metal tape recorded with Dolby C you can not tell the difference between the recording and the original CD! I taped Tchaikovsky's 1812 overature(with real cannon fire) and the dynamic range on a Chrome Maxell XLS cassette was heart-pounding loud and crisp! I replaced the belts this year (2017), and it purrs like a kitten-hopefully for another 20 years?

Analog, analog, analog...still exists and still has a great influence on audio world...once upon a time, KENWOOD's line of tape decks was really making audio listeners amazed...including mine too, a dual tape deck model KX-W8060...this deck has been with me almost 2 years.....do you all know what it has done..?wowww....dub..dab..dub...inggg...enggg....but clear and smooth treble and bass....well, i hook the deck with my YAMAHA receiver (100 watts into 8 ohms), which I connect to B&W DM604 speakers....cool and cute...all that I can say...tretatata....:)

KX-W8060, a Kenwood old dual cassette deck is a cool looking piece. With its two-head system and two dual capstan motor transport it's just like other two-head system cassette decks. However, to achieve its best sound (especially treble), have to demagnetize.
