Strength:

I owned this stereo from 2004-2012 and it was decent for sound quality and it had nice features and great speakers that i still currently run on a pioneer vsx1026 reciever that pushes them much louder than the sony mhc mg110 ever could and they still sound great.

Weakness:

Where to begin... The 1st problem that this system developped was the cd changer door not closing properly. I repaired this by melting a small metal pin into the spot where the original plastic one had fell off. Later on the tape door on the left side developped the same problem and i repaired it the same way. CD playback was good, the tuner was OK but tape playback was not so good. The playback speed was too fast and sound quality was meteocore, Recording on this tape deck was terrible and you cannot see your tape thru the thick plastic door with a very tiny almost unusable window. Around 2011 the CD changer carousel gave up completely and would not turn. I opened the unit to try and repair this (since i'm good with electronica and hi-fi stuff i figured it would be no big deal) and discovered that the main plastic gear that runs the carousel was stripped. I also discovered the cheap plastic build quality of this originally $400 unit dissapointing. Since I did not feel upto repairing this unit and wanted something better i moved on to my kenwood reciever, keeping the sony speakers from this unit. I gave the unit to my friend who uses it for the tuner and aux ins and he was happy.

Strength:

60-cd changer, Sound quality, looks sharp (black with blue).

Weakness:

For not much more you can have the 4 speaker system...

This unit is simply AMAZING. Just as loud as my JVC Gigatube (350 watts) but sounds twice as good. The bass on this unit is just right, and can be turned up for bass enthusiasts. Preset EQ's and Surround mode add to the Quality. The 60-cd changer makes life easier, not having to switch cds makes listening easy. It also has optical output and analog input. Also can be hooked up to a video game console with ease.
