I don't know what system "steve" is talking about. This one doesn't come with a sub and has gloss black speakers. No natural wood here. However this is one suprisingly good sounding minisystem. The sound from speakers this size is truly remarkable. Minidisc systems are scarce, and none of them look this good. Very happy with this great little system from JVC.

don't buy this stereo. it is a total piece of sh*t. It looks really good and the natural wood speakers sure smell good but it sounds terrble. it has 10% THD which is excessive for a boombox, let alone a system in this price range. the subwoofer is way too big for a system this small. the reciever has 26 watts total while the sub has 60 powered watts...what gives?

Strength:

Size, easy to use, sound quality

Weakness:

can't do high speed MD recording

An outstanding system, not much to improve upon, great for a college dorm room, packs punch for a small space...could use a subwoofer if you want to use this system in a larger space
