I bought this system 4 years ago and the power switch keeps failing even though the system is rarely used and the button is very lightly pressed each time.

I have had the system repaired twice and now the button has broken again a 4th time. The first time the button broke was just outside the 2 year warranty and Denon refused to take any ownership for the problem.

If you want a Hi-Fi that will last you 2 to 3 years then this is great.

Don't expect to see it around after 10 years. I was hoping for at least 5 or 6 years!

IMHO, its just plain fantastic and has no right to be as good as it is for its cost!

This Denon DM-38 S with factory speakers replaces the separates I had from well known respected mfg's., which took up to much space in my living room. Is this little Denon comparable? NO, but on the other hand its so musical and "right", and enjoyable to listen to, that I don't feel to deprived. Down the road, I'll replace the "factory" speakers "most likely with the new $760.00 PSB mini's", which should should do the trick & make this little system darn near perfect for what I'm trying to accomplish. (for further reviews see WhatHiFi, who gives it 5 stars, but suggests replacing its factory speakers). In closing, anyone who is looking for an all-in-one unit at the $400 to $800 range, give this little Denon a look.
