Weakness:

The list is long.

Anyone that would rate this product 2 or more stars must work for Aiwa. Their products are some of the worst products in the world. Learn from the mistakes of others. Do not buy Aiwa products they do not work. Unless of course you need a giant $300.00 paper weight. They use weak lasers in their products so that one spec of dust and the CD player won't read CDs anymore. I have a keychain laser pointer that cost $10.00 that has a stronger laser then these machines. I've used other CD products that I've used for more than 5 years and have not had to clean them once. However, I have tried cleaning the lens on this machine and it still doesn't work. DON'T BUY AIWA!!!!!!

I was very nieve when i purchases the v50. The high end was horrlibe for treble and the low end was horrible for bass. When the tracks changed when the volume was up there was a horrible hum or buzz from the power supply. I guess that most mini sxstems are this way. It is very unreliable too. The cd player broke two montsh after i got it. It broke again 2 years later after the warranty was gone. I gave it to my dad for the garage and bought myself a real system. I suggest anyone who owns this junk do the same.

The NSX-V50 is experiencing an excessive failure rate in its ability to play CD(s). My sister and I bought identical units several months apart and got the same problem several months apart, we can't play any disks. Our supplier informed me that he has had to ship an inordinate number of units (15-20) back for the same repair problem and it costs in the neighborhood of $112 to fix, this is not acceptable. When working, the quality of the audio is fine.
