Strength:

Quite good picture and sound for a VHS format VCR.

Weakness:

Reliablity: two of the three Proscan products we have bought have died outright within two years.

So far so good, he said with a hit of nervousness in his voice. Our other Proscan VCR died after less than two years as did our 600 dollar Proscan 27 inch monitor, so our figures are crossed with the PSVR57. Clearly, Proscan has a horrible reliablity and quality control problem. The build quality is just OK, but the picture and sound are quite good for VHS. If this one craps out as the other Prosan products did, I will literally throw it out the window.

Strength:

awesome recording/playback, great remote, good on screen display

Weakness:

"auto head cleaner"

this VCR has been used and abused(rental movies)and it still keeps coming back for more, overall a great product, I originally went for a sony VCR, came home with a ProScan and haven't regretted it one bit.
