Strength:

Nice green lights.

Weakness:

Quality control is atrocious. Do not buy Very annoying - no counter/clock on the vcr inself - all on-screen

I bought this VCR for my dad because he liked the green lights on the front, but I warned him that Panasonic VCR's have a lot of problems (a bought the model lower than this last year - horrible playback quality in EP, ok for recording though). Then a friend at work bought one - same problem. Well guess what... My dads 4621 now has a problem with the cable input jack... it doesn't get a strong signal. Tried different cables but it's definately a bad input. Throw another one on the garbage pit.

Strength:

Commercial Advance...Rewind speed...

Weakness:

Silver only...

I bought this VCR after my Sony VCR began having a problem recording (I wasn't that happy with the picture quality anyway). I have a Proscan VCR that has the Commercial Advance feature and promised myself that I wouldn't buy a VCR without it. Once you have it you can't go back. Only a small handful a VCRs have this feature (a couple of RCAs and Panasonics), so my choices were limited. The RCAs (like my Proscan) aren't known for their great picture quality, so I figured that I give the Panasonic a try. It's a little better, but once you get used to the picture from DVD, it's hard to rate the picture any better than fair. The rewind speed is amazing though. A 120 tape rewinds in about 30 seconds.

Strength:

Price, had a Panasonic before and it lasted a long time

Weakness:

Very noisy

I am very disappointed with this model. I am thinking of taking it back. It makes way too much noise in playback mode. It also lacks a counter on face of the unit, the only way to read the counter is by displaying on screen. Some nice features at a very nine price. Just too noisy.
