Strength:

Price, Dual Tuners, Ease of Use

Weakness:

Can't record non-DirecTV signals, No PIP

I have two DSR6000's and love them both. These units record directly from the satelite signal (no MPEG encoder like the Tivo stand alones) so the recording quality is excellent. They also record DD 5.1, and it sounds as good as watching a DVD. I have had no problems with my optical outputs. They also have two tuners so you can record a show and watch another at the same time. My only complaint is that I can't record local channels since DirecTV doesn't carry them, but that's more a beef with DirecTV than with the units themselves. I had no problem with either purchase from CC. If you have DirecTV, these are a must purchase if only for the fact they have two tuners and DD audio output. Through in Tivo service and it should be a no-brainer.
