Play x-change, 5 disc tray. Plays lots of formats, disc types. Very acceptable playback quality.

Probably not much difference in quality than your typical department store $100 player. Unfortunately though, IMHO to really move up in quality you have to spend several hundred more, which isn't worth it to me.

This is a decent DVD/CD player. Nothing to write home about really. It has played just about everything I've thrown at it VCD, SVCD, DVD+/-R. It will also play SACD, but I haven't played any since I just have a 2.1 system. The main advantage of this player is pretty obvious: the 5 disc tray with play x-change. Great for 2 disc movies and for listening to music for hours at a time or when friend are over. I prefer the tray design to the 100+ disc slot type players, because I tend to carry my cds around a lot (as oppoesed to just leaving them in the player. This isn't an audio/video snob type player. It's functional, and does it's job relatively well.
