Strength:

Beautiful sound & looks. Definitely VERY high quality mechanisms. Sound is great for both music and video. You canot go wrong with any Onkyo product.

Weakness:

No bass and treble controls (But sound fields can adjust well enough).

I was between this unit and the Panasonic SCHT80. Well, there is no comparison between the 2. The Onkyo is far better!!! The panasonic only had good sound with DVD - CD's sounded terrible. Also the panasonic model was cheap and felt like it was going to break. The Onkyo is sturdy and rock solid.

When I shopped around the best price I was finding was $999 which I refused to pay. I then went to J&R Music World and they had it on sale for $829. When I went to buy it they lowered the price even more to $780 and yes it was in a factory sealed box (not a floor model). Folks only do business with J&R for electronics. I have had nothing but good experiences with them.

So as for the Onkyo - there is no better product on the market for $780. Five Star Rating!

Strength:

Aesthetically pleasing with matching audio performance. This unit is very nicely styled and the sound quality is fantastic for such a small unit. DTS encoded DVDs look and sound great on this unit. The input panel enables one to hook up a number of other components through both analogue and digital inputs. The five matched speakers perform great and the subwoofer puts out awesome base for such a small unit.

Weakness:

Remote could be improved as could the ability to read CDR disks. Some work and some don't.

If you have $1,000 to spend on a home theater and want a sleek looking unit that doesn't take-over your house, this is the system for you. Onkyo's LSV900 rocks and looks great while doing so!

Strength:

DVD picture quality and sound is great! Component output is definitely a plus for those that can use it. For a small home theatre system it packs a whole lot of stuff.

Weakness:

Not too many variation sound tunings you can do with your regular audio cd's, although there are a few different sound simulations they offer

Probably the best home theatre package out in the market today. Don't bother to find anything better or to pay anymore than this system because Bose or any other brands such as sony don't offer anything as good as what Onkyo does. Make sure you couple it with a digital tv and you are all set!!

Obviously if you are looking for full control over everything and more power, you are probably better off buying separate components and speakers. This is definitely a space saver for people that need the space.

Strength:

sleek and easy to configure.

Weakness:

no graphic equalizer to control treble and bass

this is the best investment dollar for dollar i spend so far on home electronics. the envision system is sleeker than sony dav-300 and the sound is 100% better when i tested it at a local store. i got my system at a bargain as far as i know of and the people who sold me this system are very helpful too.
