Strength:

Price to value ratio. Receiver.

Weakness:

DVD player isn''t going to compete w/ top of the line. Speakers definitely worth the money, only comment is they can be a little tinney.

This review is for the HTB404DV which includes the 5-disc DVD changer (DV505). This is my first home theater system, but thus far, I''m impressed with the sound quality and features. As some of the other Kenwood product reviews have noted, I can''t imagine that you can find a similar system for the price. The receiver is easy to use and has all the standard surround modes, etc. Power is more than I can really use based on the size of the room it''s in. Some may want to upgrade the speakers (i.e., powered subwoofer), but the factory speakers are plenty for most users. Haven''t used it long, but highly recommended. Also, if DVD (not the strength of the system) isn''t up to par I''d still recommend getting the base system and separately purchasing an upgraded DVD
