Strength:

price, zoom, plays 5 CD's with random (or shuffle) feature not found on most DVD players. Toshiba seems to be the only manufacturer with zoom (please correct me if I'm wrong); this is a God-send when viewing an anamorphic (letterbox) movie; it uses more of the screen instead of leaving half of it black.

Weakness:

You need to hold the Fast Forward button down for 2 seconds for each speed (2x, 4x and 16x); if you just press the button, you skip to the next chapter.
The remote is way too small and not backlit; eventually you will find what you need with the Braille method of touch and feel, but the buttons are still too close together; maybe you can use your favorite universal remote with it. The enter button is in a strange place.
It has frozen up on me once already; I pulled the plug and it was okay.

A great starter DVD player, especially if you don't already have a CD player that plays 5 CD's. If you want a DVD player with a better remote (but no random play feature), choose the Toshiba SD-4205.

Similar Products Used:

Toshiba SD-4205 and another Toshiba which a friend now has. In other words, this is my third Toshiba DVD player and I am very happy with them overall. If Sony had a zoom feature I would have picked Sony though.
