Strength:

Solid Built

Weakness:

Chroma upsampling bug present with noticable scan lines esp. on animated DVDS

Solid built but for the being the top of the line model, it suffers from the "chroma upsampling bug" with severe scan lines present when playing animated DVDs such as Shrek (Chapter 14-15). I am disappointed when a cheaper DVD doesn't have this same problem

Strength:

Steller performer all around.

Weakness:

A bit light in weight but doesn't affect performance.

This is a killer DVD/SACD player. Redbook playback is awesome (much better than my $2000 Sony X779ES) and video is stunning! Build quality is nice but not as robust as the Sony 9000ES it replaces. This player does all except DVD-A. This player is worth the price for audio playback alone!
