Strength:

Awesome picture, size, cool factor!

Weakness:

Price, carrier does not hold charging system and cables. Speakers built in are not loud enough.

Just an update. I used my Avia calibration DVD on this unit to see how it stacked up to the test patterns. I know there is only one adjustment to be made, which is briteness. With that being said with the brightness turned down all the way the color and hue came very close with a blue lense. Ok course blacks stayed a touch brighter then they should be. Sharpness was perfect, and the display had almost perfect reds and greens on the color decoder check. Althogh it was lacking in blue saturation. Blue and green is not as easy to notice as red push without test patterns. So I was very pleased with the results. The best thing to do is set down and open the screen until the colors look the best. I find that when the screen is slightly tilted back it looks the best. Now the cool thing! The speakers absolutely suck. But when using even cheap ear phones or powered speakers you get awesome two channel surround sound that will blow you away! You can hear real movement in the sound! Great toy!

Strength:

Video screen is 10 beautiful inches! It has an aluminum case, and the size is only one inch thick.

Weakness:

The on-board speakers are very thin-sounding, and have no dynamic range at all. The included battery only gives you 2 hours 24 minutes, instead of the three full hours Samsung boasts about. Again, the aspect ratio is fixed, and you'll have a hard time watching 4:3 ratio TV shows as well as home video. I reccomend buying a second battery.

Great little unit if you don't intend to ever watch TV 4:3 aspect DVDs on it. After calling Samsung, they explained to me that I was the FIRST person to report that there's no way to change the anamorphic aspect ratio to anything other than widescreen.

Strength:

Size of screen. Ability to hook up external video sources. Picture quality. Wide viewing angles.

Weakness:

Price! Sound ot of speakers not loud enough, and sound very SMALL! Charging time (3.5 hours). player internals are loud while playing DVDs/CDs.

This is one awesome package! I love the large 10" wide screen. TV, Video games, and DVDs look wonderfull. To the guy that said 4:3 content looked out of perportion I guess he did not know that you can set the display to pan-and-scan. The display is very brite and has great color, but the black levels are not as deep as my Pioneer Elite Pro-520HD. But for $899 what can you expect. I am a soldier getting deployed to kick some Sadom Iraq ass! This product will make life alot easier! After I come back I will install this in my 2000 Explore's rear roof so back seat pasangerscan be entertained. The display switches upside down with one quick push of a button so roof mounting can be accomplished.

Strength:

Outstanding industrial design. Slim profile. 10" diagonal screen size - looks noticeably bigger than even a 9" screen

Weakness:

Inability to properly display anything but anamorphic material on built-in screen. Makes older movies orTV (or early letterboxed DVDs) look wrong. Soft image - not enough resolution for screen size.

Tried this from Best Buy for a month, and returned it because it cannot display anything except Anamorphic wide screen material in proper aspect ratio - any 4:3 TV material or letterboxed but non- anamorphic DVDs display stretched to fill screen. So older movies look short/wide, whil letterboxed look tall/thin.

Strength:

strong industrial comeback across Samsung line. large 10" screen. nice carrying case included.

Weakness:

heavy, battery life, unique (not replaceable, no extras to be found) cables,

Nice looking product but for the price it is lacking progressive scan. The unit is also HEAVY. The extra long battery is nowhere to be find so you are limited to 2.5 hours. Bottom line should have purchased a Toshiba or Panasonic or for the size/weight, used my laptop.
