Strength:

Outstanding video quality unmarred by the plethora of decoding distortions that still plagues the priciest players. Audio quality is likewise first rate.

Weakness:

None

Let me just say that this is a great player, not just for the money but at any price! For those who truly want a superior progressive scan image, DCDi technology is the only way to go. This unit's video quality surpasses both the Sony DVP9000ES and Pioneer 47Ai players both of which I also own (mainly because I bought into the hype these players have received in the audio/video press). If you truly want to be knowledgeable about DVD video performance visit the Secrets of Home Theater web site at www.hometheaterhifi.com. Those of you out there with fancy/expensive players (like the Sony and Pioneer above) get ready to be upset. I only wish I had found this site before I spent all that money. Oh well... By the way, this player's audio performance is similarly outstanding with cd and SACD performance rivalling the above mentioned Sony player.
