Strength:

FAST. Does what it should.

Weakness:

Remote is weak but I have a universal anyway.

Sony DVD players are so slow to get moving you sit thee for 30 seconds wondering if it even registered the remote key press. Toshibas can't even track perfect DVD's. This unit spools DVD's right up in no time. Fast response....much better than it's retarded counterparts. I have a Sony Blu ray that's incredibly annoying to use. I chose to make it a dedicated Bluray DVD player only. Picked up this Panasonic for all other media. For 80$ it's a steal.

Strength:

Incredible bang for the buck, Fast and Responsive, Great Price, Future Proof due to upconverting and HDMI output, Tons of Options to Fine Tune A/V

Weakness:

Thin Fragile disc tray

Amazing bang for the buck! This DVD player was super cheap yet has every type of output currently available. It's got it all, HDMI, Component, S-video, composite video, digital coax, digital optical, etc. It's also a very fast responsive player. I bought two of these to replace two Sony DVD players that I bought about a year and a half ago that had died. I can't believe how fast this thing spools up and plays a disc. My crappy Sony took like 30 seconds before anything came on the screen which was extremely annoying. This thing is playing the disc in seconds. So far I'm very happy. It's also got tons of options you can tweak. This player can upconvert DVDs to 720 or 1080 to look better on a HDTV. I really like the look of the user interface when setting up the options too. The player does however have a very thin and fragile disc tray though. I also like the remote.
