Strength:

MP3 capability, progressive scan

Weakness:

MP3's will utilize the shuffle feature and will only play in analog. Gold rather than black to match other units in rack.

I was very disappointed that MP3's only play in analog and will not utilize the shuffle feature. Makes me want to burn all my mp3's as wav files, then I would want a multi-disk player which I plan to swap out to. I am not ready to purchase a HDTV in the near future so the progressive scan feature is not a top priority. My recommendation is to forget about MP3 capability and get a unit with multi-disk capability to play songs without having to change out disks frequently. Can anyone suggest a unit that fits my needs?

Strength:

Best low priced MP3 capable player out there and has the Best menu system for them. Picture as good as any other I reviewed in this class

Weakness:

None to speak of

Excellent picture and sound. Easy to use remote. Easy to operate.

BTW, the guy that gave his a 1-1 rating must not be aware that sometimes you get a bad unit.

Most people make an exchange.

Strength:

Price, Features, My Experience With JVC

Weakness:

None So Far

I was looking for a DVD player with a lot of features and not the huge tag like some progressive players. The picture off of the player is perfect, didn't look and different than the others and it was about 100$ less. In the features dept. it has everything I was loking for but the progressive was the main factor. My system includes the following......
Mitsubishi 55809 55" widescreen Hi Def
Yamaha RXV-870
Infinity Fronts
Polk Center
Yamaha Rear
Velodyne CT-150 sub
Just to let you know, the TV does have its own line doubling system but the progressive player is the way to go, much sharper and very smoothe. I would recommend this player to anyone, thats on a budget or not.
