Strength:

ease of use for dubbing from vhs to dvd.

Weakness:

Firmware, cannot compete in the dvd world, and no patchs or software avalible.

I have had this jvc dr-mv7 about a year, it was a replacment for model dr-mv1 but this replacement almost acts the same way it can,t read some dvds like divx and some prerecorded disc,it some times wont eject, and when i do get a dvd to play it sometimes will just stop right in the middle and then it will eject the disc. When i had the dr-mv1 i had to send it back to jvc service center three times so the firmware could be reuploaded each time i had to pay for shipping to them,This almost ended up costing more in shipping then the dvd player was worth.Findly i got jvc to replace it with this dr-mv7.
One thing i can tell you is that i have other jvc products that work just fine, but they can't make a good dvd recorder. Can anyone recammend a good player!
