    Strength:

Picture, very clear !definitely,I also have a ps3,the color is more natural ,compare to the ps3,that 's with the component output !as oppose with the hdmi on the ps3.Does not freeze like the Toshiba HD-Xa1,play 99% dvd discs(DVD+R,DVD-R,double layer
DVD+r,)Now,I know why hd-dvd lost, because, when I played certain back-up disc, the whole machine froze! I have to unplugged and power up again to eject the discs!
The sound also better than the HD-Xa1!especially plain old dvds! Also,it does have 5.1 analog outputs for older receivers. The unit look very elegant also, picture doesn't do justice .

    Weakness:

Doesn't played cds,it does take time to power up,but it's lot faster then my HD-Xa1,the PS 3 still the champ here!does not decode DTS-HD.The response is kind of slow also.

Buy it before is gone! That being said,it is a first generation Sony, therefore,it is well built, and you can have it at bargain price at u bid.com and else where,

    Strength:

Great fit and finish. User freindly, if you have patience. Lots of pateince.
The picture and sound processing is excellant.

    Weakness:

Are you ready to watch a movie? OK just wait, now keep waiting........

If you can stay up through the powering up process, and then continue to stay awake through the loading process you can enjoy the movie. And Enjoy it you will. Sony has the bull by the horns when it comes to blue-ray, once you get it going.
