Strength:

Accurate sounding, full-bodied, pleasing to the ear. Solid value.

Weakness:

Highs are a bit bright, uncomfortably tight for extended listening

I bought these guys after MUCH research and trial and error. I had my trust V5's for nearly a decade and like everyone else, started getting annoyed at the disintegrating earpads. It's kind of a shame, because even though they're "for professionals" they weren't nearly as durable as they could have been. Anyway...

About a month ago, I picked up the cool V700's and sent them back 2 days later. Not only were they way too heavy, big and bulky, they were really tight, uncomfortable for more than 1/2 hr, and lacked any decent imaging. Very disappointing, esp since they're expensive ($120ish) and very cool looking too.

So, after more homework, it seems as though the V6's have been very well received for many, many years and that they're what the pros use to monitor recordings and such. I figured they were a safe bet and since I had my V5's for so long, maybe new V6's would be right at home. I was going to go for them, but then heard about the 7506's being the same, but with a bit nicer construction and also a more repairable design.

I've had these guys for about a week and after many hours of listening, I am pleased to report that they're peforming exceptionally well. Imaging is excellent, tonal range is smooth, bass is nice and tight. I might need to break these guys in a bit more, but out-of-the-box, they sound pretty darn good.

One thing I've noticed is that after a while, since the headphones cup your ear, your lobes can get a bit warm. Not really a design problem, but something worth mentioning.
