Strength:
This is probably the single product that's made my portable audio into a consistent pleasure.
Weakness:
A bit uncomfortable on the ears (physically) if listened to for a longer period of time. A little too big and bulky to carry around in one's bag all the time, but the sound is worth it. This is an astonishing product. I use it with my Sony MZ-R50 portable Minidisc recorder (plugged straight into the jack; I'm not using the remote control) and it just sounds beautiful. Very, very highly recommended. It makes any portable audio source sound as if it were really expensive. Similar Products Used: Too many to count. |

Strength:
Good bass response and DARN GOOD HIGHS after a proper break-in!!
Weakness:
Uncomfortable after 1 hour of listening. This is it!! Grado SR-80 puts all the other headphones that cost as much as it into shame. Initially, I was very dissapointed because new out from the box, it sounded like a $30 or so headphone. Bass was terrible where it muddied the sound most of the times. I just thought of returning this to the shop. But, since they have a 30 return policy, I decided to keep it for about 3 more weeks. After the third week, once I put on the SR-80, I was stunned!! What on earth happened to my headphone? Once a $30 piece of junk has turned into the most unbelieable sounding headphone. The bass has smoothed out so much and the vocal is so clear. Great detail
Weakness:
Can sound bright and congested when pushed These headphones have a lot of detail and sound excellent when not pushed. I like the sound of the Grado SR60s better because they just get louder when pushed but the SR80s start to get congested and bright sounding. These are excellent heaphones if you only listen to music at moderate listening levels. Overall I give these headphones 4 stars. Similar Products Used: Grado SR60 |

Strength:
great sound.. clean bass.. cheap.
Weakness:
uncomfortable, stethoscope-like cord, foam padding breaks easily, open-air design which isn't officemate-friendly when i turn it up. I was auditioning for headphones under $100.. and the Grado SR-80 smoked all of the other ones.. even the difference between these and SR-60 is complete night n day. Makes me wonder how much better the RS series is. Similar Products Used: 15 year old AKG's, overpriced sonys. |
