Strength:

Looks good, very attractive style, folds up conveniently, 8th inch or 1/4inch plug adapter built in.

Weakness:

Sound quality is terrible, my $20 headphones sound better, they really do. The bass response is non-existant, it really sounds like crap. Avoid these headphones like the plague.

Don't get these if you are planning an DJing, they just cant perform, they just wont cut it. Very inaccuarate bass resopnse. Highs are ok, but nothing to write home about. I got it to have quality bass and it was worse than what I already had. Overall, you can do better for 70 bucks, much better. In a word: Junk.

the streetstyle headphones by Sony are actually far better in sound quality than the MDR-V500DJ, and are a whole lot cheaper!

Strength:

Crisp treble. And look great!

Weakness:

Small cups so after a while, your ears which don't fit inside too well- start to hurt. Plus you get the 'steam room' humid feel. Trebles sometimes too crisp. Unrefined, unbalanced. Distinct lack of bass. Inaccurate low-frequency reproduction. Finally hollow sounding.... need I say more.

Firstly they're not open, they're actually closed. And in general, they look better than they sound. Good for amateur DJs, not so great for Hi-fi....
